The offending object is your porch slab polyline solid. Not sure why it is doing that, but it goes away when the slab is deleted. Try deleting and remaking the slab.

If you click and hold when placing the door, you can move the mouse around to various different door orientations. Let go of the mouse button when the door in in the orientation you want.

I would draw all the walls at the narrower width and add wall material regions for the thickened parts.
-
When I plan to use a custom color repeatedly I make a new material.

Edit the overhang settings then rebuild the auto roofs.
Unless you've fiddled with them manually and want to retain that. Then you will have to manually edit the overhangs.

Use .csv
It'seems second on the list in your 2nd attachment.

Export it as excel. Sheets can import excel.

Whiteboards are recommended for interior applications only.
(The weather causes the marker to streak and eventually wash off.)

Today's framing contractors can frame any imaginable roof with site cut rafters; and many still do.
(Not that I have anything against trusses - I use them regularly.)
Dig a little deeper - Chief does trusses.

Can you draw the additional height on the second floor?
-
There is no back and forth between Chief and ACAD. It is a one way street.
You can export lines that someone with ACAD can import. They can send you back lines you can import.

and just change the (0) to the number of decimal places you want
i.e. x = area.round(1) gives you x.y as the output
x = area.round(2) gives you x.yy as the output

Joe, I wish I new how to do what you are recommending, but I don't.
DSH just paste the text Joe provided in to the "Value" of the macro and select "Owner Object" from the context drop down.
Thanks Joe !!!!

Yes!
I'd love a setting for this.
The builder asked me to confirm that we needed 85.4541016 square feet of tile for the bathroom.
I asked him if my estimate was not accurate enough.

Nice work! Did you model that landscape or is it a backdrop?

Manual dormers.
I never use auto dormers. They seem to be too far from where my design needs to be that it is easier to create from scratch than modify the auto dormer.
-
I make the second floor normal height and move down the roof planes. The pro being spaces in the dormers have the proper ceiling height or collar tie height.
The "story and a half" Cape is a common type in the Northeast. The roof sits on second floor knee walls that may be 2, 3, 4-ish feet tall.
I cannot really compare the two as I have never tried doing it with a 1 1/2" second floor. A con might be if you intend to show space under the roof you'll need to create a third floor that is open to below. Might get fussy with room definitions?

The Dropbox folder is actually on the hard drive. That folder just gets synced with Dropbox online.

Perry,
It is set to Balanced.
the setting is at Advanced Power Settings...PCI Express...Link State Power Management.
I haven't had a problem with freezing since I turned this off.
I think it has also stopped one of my monitors from switching off and on randomly.
Holy Cow! I changed this setting to balanced and my PC is lightning fast now!
I had been wondering why it wa snot as fast as I'd hoped it would be.
Thanks Glenn.

Alex - I found out what it was and where i was by turning off layers one by one. When I found what layer it was on I turned off all the layers except that one.
