I'm looking for some ideas on changing this roof in the front of this house to keep out snow pockets while preserving the interior as much as possible.
-
Thanks Joe, I like hearing how others are doing things as I'm operating on a laptop to two 32" inch monitors. It's working fine but I always like hearing what works better or for the different applications. I don't have anything in portrait mode but I want to try that soon.

Hello, With the lower cost of larger monitors has anyone ditched the dual and triple monitors for using one large monitor?

When I take an elevation camera view I have framing sticking up through the roof but it is not there in the orthographic view....? What would cause something like this where the plan is representing something different depending on view? GUERINNI-PLAN_April_8.2020.plan

Kitchen Adobe, that might warrant a separate thread. -
Thank you, I described that incorrectly, I'm looking for a 3'0" 6'8" exterior door for a garage that has just three lights at the top. I was able to download the ThermaTru door and going through that now.

Can anyone recommend a budget garage door brand or model. I'm trying to find one in a manufacturer's catalog starting with ThermaTru?

Reading now, thanks!

Sorry Rob, I don't understand. What is it's purpose? The screen shot was created prior to your suggestion but regardless I still can's seem to make it work and it's behavior being controlled by the Default dialog I think I have some box checked or unchecked.

"Interior Dimension" under the little ruler icon

The exteriors are fine, it's the interiors that are referencing surfaces and not centers despite centers being checked.
-
Good morning, I'm trying to find the handle on centering my dimensions on the interior walls. The exterior is working ok and I edited the defaults but my interior walls keep locating to surfaces. Is there an overriding instruction that is keeping the program from locating the wall centers for the interiors. Also I have tried this multiple times so my interior dimensions are generating multiple measurements. Do I close and reopen the plan to change this? GUERINNI-PLAN_April_8.2020.plan

That works! thank you Eric, i guess I was grabbing the wrong handle...Cheers! I'll be going on to Plan Check and separating those layers prior to layout next.

I adjusted the planes, centered door and roof, all of this seems proper and the lines are all lined up. Is there something that confirms that they are properly joined? It all looks good inside and out but the program message still says cannot join... I'm also looking to trouble shoot this from basement to ridge and send to layout if anyone can help with this level of troubleshooting for service? GUERINNI-PLAN_April_8.2020.plan

Thank you Eric, I'm not sure I can change those roof lines that dramatically without changing some of the structural components already researched. I was able to clean it up but keep getting error messages when trying to join the roof planes. "One of these roofs must be zero....or some such thing...

I corrected the pitch and the lines remain unchanged. Plan is attached. I'm also trying to figure out some ways of making this porch more attractive, I think it's too high but I don't want the facias to be mis-aligned? Humble chief was right, I'll be curious to see what that does to my framing.

Thank you, the question is that the right side has two lines and the left plane has one, I'm trying to figure out why. I suspect you are correct on the framing but I'm also always try to understand how these parameters are built in the program.

I have circles around my question spots....1. What is the extra line on this layover porch roof? The opposite side does not have it? Also when I added a railing to this porch, when I connected to the house wall the wall frame changed to a wall backer configuration but it only happened on one side? Do I have to correct the other side manually?
-
Thank you, that corrected a lot, now I just have to change some framing members that are showing up. I know I changed them at some point and now I'm trying to find how they were created, the deck rim joist for instance.
