  1. Set the ceiling to 59 and move the wall to the intersection - you need to know the pitch and the overall dims for any of this to work. Or I just saw Joey's post - if all you need is the interior of that space set the roof on a 59 plate height - still need the pitch

  2. You could set a ceiling height see where the ceiling line show and move the wall to that location. You could use CAD lines to establish location by height and move the wall there but walls don't have height control of themselves. If it doesn't need to be a wall for your purposes use a soffit or polysolid and size accordingly

  3. Quick sketch -very quick. Draw your exterior walls. Open wall dbx for appropriate walls and change to gable and set pitch. Auto build roofs. Build new floor (do not check raise roof) Go to second floor and draw wall in correct location. Wall will be knee wall and "sloped wall" will be your roof

Just compare the current available EULA and an older one for yourself.

    Ok

If you read the X3, longer, transfer clause it spends more time explaining the restrictions and requirements than the X14 does. They both say transfers subject to approval. Just wondering, has a building department ever changed their interpretation of a restriction in the code?

Yes, nice move Chief, you've removed a whole page from the EULA without telling anyone as well ...... wow....

Well Mick now you have me confused. I just spoke to them and was told transfers are still permitted per the agreement if approved. They did say they were tightening down the restrictions as they were very loose before.

Ask them - get it straight from the horse's mouth ....

And so I did.... and they were kind enough to repost. Transfers are still permitted subject Chief's approval as always. Were they more lenient in the past? Probably. Will they be more lenient in the future? Possibly. Right now every prudent person and company is being cautious about the uncertain future. The statement " We don't do that anymore" is incorrect. License transfer is subject to approval on a case by case basis.

This has been stated in about four threads now Lew. 1 You have been asked by several if you had reconfirmed it other than the original sales person as others had received other information....  We haven't heard back from you so I am assuming No you didn't call in and ask regarding transferring your license and not selling your license.  I had a client transfer their license to one of Mick's clients not too long ago so it has been possible as you state. 2 But possibly due to emotions it wasn't expressed properly or the agent who told you differently was confused of your intentions.

3 Maybe we can ask @ChiefArchitector @Dermotor anyone else at Chief to comment regarding this?  Are transfers still allowed until Jan 10th?  After?  If transferred before or after does the new license holder have the opportunity to purchase SSA at that time and continue with a Legacy license? 4 Please clarify for us all.

Create your own Units and use those instead.  You can do this by going into Preferences>General>Unit Conversions and then adding a new Unit.  The unit might look like this...

Well dang! I didn't know that. I never noticed you could add your own. I build wooden model ships to keep my sanity (jury's still out) and use this all the time to draw up custom parts. I always had to futz with the scale. Thank You!

  9. With no info regarding system, program etc. almost impossible... Look to your video card and see what max lights are set to. Will be regulated by the size of video card or drive depending on what you're using to generate PBR

There has always been a "forgiveness period" , I thought it was 30 days , but have seen 90 mentioned before , however what it is now I don't know , as it seems the policy on Transferring Licenses has changed with this announcement too.

There have been a few comments about paying SSA.  Here are some options and our policy on SSA renewal.

    • The price of SSA is currently $595.  When we make changes to SSA pricing, we notify our customers in advance.  The price of SSA renewal is not changing on Jan. 10.
    • We begin billing for SSA 45 days prior to the due date.  At that time, you will see the invoice in your online account and an email notification that SSA is due.  There are multiple reminders to renew SSA as the due date approaches.
    • We offer an SSA auto-pay option. You can contact sales at 208-292-3400 to provide payment information to get auto pay set up.
    • If your SSA expires, there is a 30-day grace period from the date your SSA expires to get your SSA renewed. So, if you are out of town, etc., you have additional time to make your SSA payment.

    Kind regards,

lew, Bad Faith is a legal term which means that Chief would have a fiducary duty to its customers

That's actually true if the contract establishes the duty ie: you will then be able to transfer your rights at will. The insurance company will pay damages if X,Y,Z  Bad Faith is an intentional dishonest act by not fulfilling a legal or contractual obligation or intentionally misleading another. Chief has done neither. Whether or not license transfer is permitted (still debatable - want to hear from Chief) is still at their option. To completely eliminate the transfer would be a breach of the EULA. Not a lawyer, thank God - my sister is and that is bad enough... This is however pretty basic stuff to know if you're in business.
