  1. Are there any doors available where you can design the height of the panel at the bottom and the add lites to the glass like you can a window?. I have to make this door have 6 lites but it won't allow the lite adjustments.
  2. I think this is close enough. Thanks for the help!!!! On side note ( I may put this under its own topic) are there any doors that you can design that have the panel at the bottom adjustable and the glass allowed to have lites. I have to make this door have 6 lites but it won't allow the lite adjustments.
  3. Sorry I wasn't clear. The gable that is on the front porch that is open with columns underneath the sides. is it something I can use a roofing tool to do or do I have to draw a shape get the thick vault. How do I get it to be open in the gable area, I used both of your suggestions to get me going. I tried to do it with ceiling surface making it 10" thick but it didn't hug the roof eve and it didn't have the "legs" showing on the inspiration picture. I will try my hand and modeling it with a polysolid..
  4. I need some ideas on how to accomplish this from someone that has more expertise than I do. I've always draw them with a beam going across at the bottom supported by the columns. Also, what is the correct wording for this type of roof, if anyone knows.
  5. Agreed! No this is a new plan attempt. I like what you did with the plan,. Maybe I can talk them into it. Certainly would be an easier build.
  6. Duh! Changed the setting as you mentioned Eric and it worked.
  7. I think you are right. There is something with the wall type that isn't right but I have tried to compare the dialogs from a different wall type that works properly and can't seem to see the difference. I have had the same thing happen when I tried to use a screen porch railing wall type. Floor under the porch disappeared on the second floor. Would love to know the setting that needs to be changed for next time.
  8. K, need to have someone make me feel stupid, LoL! Why isn't their a gap where the floor system should show brick going all the way up? Bergman residence 3 CA.plan
  9. Is there a way to generate the support structure for exterior stairs without changing the landings to decks? I am always going back in and adding posts but wondered if there is a better way to do it. What do you folks do? Thanks!
  10. Oh wow, thanks guys for all your help. I think I should be able to work it out now. I'll let you know if I run into complications. THANK YOU!!!!
  11. If you could send the file so I can compare the roof plane locations that would be great. Thanks for your help!
  12. Sorry I am having trouble understanding, I am feeling a little dense right now, so it isn't your fault. Just overworked my brain the last several days. It might rain sometimes in Pensacola, LoL, like in Hurricane Sally or other ground soaking rains that last days where we end up with flooding issues. Definitely need a water tight house here.
  13. That house looks beautiful. Thanks for giving it a shot. The truss company and client have the left hip roofs ridge continuing across the house so there is a longer horizontal ridge on the house. I gave there truss sheets in another post.
  14. Here is the truss layout sheet from what the truss company designed that I am trying to duplicate. Perhaps it just won't work the way they expect it to??? If you go to the roof plan view and turn on the CAD, Roofs LAYOUT PICTURE layer you will see where I copied the layout picture in to work with it. BOBBY WELCH-1.pdf BOBBY WELCH-2.pdf BOBBY WELCH-3.pdf
  15. Thanks for your efforts, That would work, but the client likes the more simplified roof the truss company came up with, so I am trying to replicate it. I think I will just let them know the issues I am having and tell them I can fix the plan cosmetically to match what they want, but there could be water issues. As an aside, I see you are from Lancaster. I have a sister and her family that are in Rosamond. Another sister is in Reseda, I graduated from Newbury Park High in Newbury Park but live in Pensacola FL now. Small world.
  16. Sorry, I should have said this is a new build.
  17. I have this almost complete but the owner and truss company say this wall that is circled should go all the way up to the roof. The back side of the wall (drywall) shows on the other side. Is it possible for this wall to be done the way they say, and if so, can you tell me what I need to do to fix it. I tried just cosmetically fixing it with a slab with the brick on it, but the wall seems too wide coming out of the roof. Thanks! Bobbie Welch Residence.plan
  18. Awesome. You found it. I am still not sure why it wouldn't work, but I took out the extra segment around the stairs (there were 2. I made it one using the fillet tool) Thanks bunches!
  19. Is anyone able to help me figure out what is going on with this plan. There is a gap that shows up in the 3d model on the second floor near the stairs. Also, the area doesn't look right when I do a section cut thru the area. I have attached the .plan file for any that have time to look at it. Thanks! 6040 East Bay ICF Design.plan
  20. That's great Joe. Is there anyway I can see an example of its output? Does it measure to the exterior of the veneer for the sqft figures?
  21. Is there an automatic method that would calculate the living area for each floor, and the garage, storage space and put it into a table format? I have been making polylines, getting the sqft info from it and putting it into my own table I made. Just thought I would check to see if something easier was available. Thanks!!!
  22. Got it, thanks Eric!!!!
  23. Does anyone have a wall type for open lath like is used in the picture below that they can share or tell me how to create. I am not sure if this is the correct term for this type of wall. If it isn't, I would appreciate the correction. Happy New Year and Thanks!!!
  24. Got it on the suggestion forum! Thanks!
  25. Thanks Chopsaw! I will do this and add it as a suggestion. Is there a way to add a ChiefTalk forum thread to the suggestion box directly. If not, then that would be a suggestion I would make to Chief Architect.
