There's a hard-coded minimum line width of about 1/300 in. for PDFs (when using "Chief Architect Save As PDF") in order to mitigate issues where zero-width lines would come through as extremely faint in many PDF viewers.
Hi Ben, Is that something that has changed in one of the more recent versions ? Also how would the 1/300 in. correspond to an actual line weight # using the default Drawing Sheet Setup of 1/100 mm ?

Gotcha. Any chance you tried viewing the pdf in another pdf viewer? I don’t know if that would make a difference but id does with other pattern issues for some people…
Thanks Ryan, It seems to be a template issue but I just can't seem to find the problem so I sent it to tech support.

Have you tried changing your drawing sheet line weight scale to 1:150mm? I find that gives a little more control.
Thanks Ryan, Yes I have made adjustments as others have suggested in other threads to the drawing sheet line weight scale all the way from 1/50mm to 1/1000mm and it makes no difference to this situation.
I found out very late last night that printing with "Adobe PDF" driver does seem to handle the line weight issue but then makes a mess that must have something to do with line endcaps so I am not really any further ahead.

I an not sure I have had this issue before but can't seem to be able to send a line weight less than about 16 to PDF. Even a 1 or a 0 prints out the same as a 16. Printing at 600 dpi. with Chief Architect Save As PDF and a Drawing Sheet line weight of 1= 1/100 mm. Even 4000 dpi. does not have any improvement. Layout Line scaling or not gives the same result.

It looks to be updating to me but it is not auto correct everything software. You need to increase the fascia size when you increase the rafter size and sub fascia.

I checked the 'rounding' it's set to a value of 1/8"
I would try changing that to 1/16" and see what happens. Unfortunately Grid Rounding can show an error as much as you have your Smallest Fraction set to in my testing under some situations, so you may want to eliminate that possibility by switching to Distance Rounding and see if that resolves it, or part of it.
Again these are all guesses without the plan file.... Surely you can clip a kitchen island out of a plan file without breaching client confidentiality.
Or wait a week for tech support to respond. I have had quite a few responses from tech recently that just say "why not post it on the forum".

Maybe set your grid snaps to 1/8" and see if that helps other wise you may need to post the plan. If your grid snaps are set to 1" and you try a 1/8" adjustment it may not allow it. Or turn off snaps temporarily.

I rarely use Chiefs backdrops just for the thing you mentioned and also the actual views we have to chose from. Who builds there home on a wave, in the middle of a lake or in the middle of the road as what we have with our choices.
Very true. Of all the ones that you see posted on the forum it seems that there are really only two or three that users feel are acceptable to use generically.

Download the Collada File.

Yes you can get all of that with a referenced macro. Joe has one available if it is not your thing.

Long shot would be to drag the front wall over the rogue side wall and see what happens.

CS, do you have any insight into why Chief won't allow creating a custom pattern with anything other than a continuous linetype?
Possibly just too many options and no specific requests. Same problem with 2D Cad Blocks it seems.

Ah, thanks, I was sitting on the back porch sipping an adult beverage when I wrote that, was going on memory
Not a problem as it seems that it often takes a collaborative effort to come up the correct answer for things that don't seem to be in the manual.

All you need to do is move the floor column to row 2, then cut and paste the schedule. (ctrl-x, ctrl-alt-v).
Thanks Robert. There is always some little significant step that I seem to forget.

Also, there are up and down buttons that appear on the edit menu when you select a row.
I think that was a new feature in X14 Chris. And you need to select the object.

Hummm... X15 has sort orders for each column. You may need to do it manually in X13.
-
What happens if you make " Floor " column #2 ?

Hi Steve. You might want to copy this over to the "Seeking Services" forum where it should get more attention.

If you have never experienced that before it is likely that your "Snap Unit" has changed. I believe it is set to 1" by default. This allows walls and most other objects to snap to a grid and avoid fractions. Check this in General Plan Defaults. Or perhaps you have Grid Snaps tuned off ?

You will find lintel defaults in your window and door defaults in the Framing tab labeled as "Header Label Defaults".
Cross Sections

Yes you can cut a cross section and crop out what you want to show and even auto detail it and have it live. Or you can create an editable cad detail from view for a more traditional black and white detail with cad tools.
