  1. Not sure there is such a thing as a single super fast thread. It's the reality that a number of operations are single threaded and as such they are unable to take advantage of multi-core processing. Unfortunately it's not feasible to write all code to be multi-core efficient, many computations must be resolved in a series like manner, you need the result of the first equation before you can resolve the second equation. To take advantage of multi-core processing each equation needs to be independent of the other, one core resolves equation 1 while another core resolves equation 2. When it comes to these single threaded operations you are essentially at the mercy of your CPU's processing frequency, though this has improved over the last few years, increasing from high 3's to upper 4's low 5's, I don't anticipate much further improvement as cooling becomes a major issue as frequency increases.
  2. I think it's a Windows thing. I just checked mine in device manager and it also does not say it's NVMe, but if I open up it's properties DBX and check under the Events tab it states under information that it is an NVMe Samsung Pro 970.
  3. Vid card is good so I really suspect it's something to do with your plan.
  4. Looks to me as if you just have a very large plan. Your system specs are more than ample, decent CPU & lots of ram. What type of video card do you have? Keep in mind that many instructions in CA are single threaded so those extra cores don't really help very much. What version of CA are you using? Might want to post your plan so others can give it a try.
  5. Thanks Mick. I went and checked and it is in the list but as you mention it is not included in the standard drop down menu. No big deal as I normally use the full camera anyways.
  6. It does the same for me but it seems that there is something buggy in the plan. If I go to defaults and uncheck the Full Camera General settings then the camera works fine. I can then reset those settings and it still works. Also, for some reason I do not see the Floor Camera in the Camera Drop down list. Will keep looking.
  7. Not having any problems here with the full camera and X11 Beta and Windows 10. Post the plan and I'll give it a try.
  8. Try another(different) plan file before going through the process of reloading X11. Since I was able to run the first one you posted just go to your post and download it as a test.
  9. Here's the Ray Trace after 14 passes.
  10. There is something wrong with that file. I reloaded the one you posted before and it is Ray Tracing just fine.
  11. That's the same one as I have, haven't encountered any problems. Post a plan that you are having the problem with, maybe it's one of your settings.
  12. What is the driver version you are having problems with?
  13. Just roll-back the driver to your previous one. Not all new drivers are bug free.
  14. No you have to raise the Finished Floor Bottom up 12 inches for it to float.
  15. You need to delete the toe kick as in my first post.
  16. I just raised one in X11 and had no issues. You need to post the plan.
  17. Looks like the Toe Kick. Change it to "0" and adjust your cabinet height.
  18. Just open the cabinet DBX and under the General tab change Finished Floor to Bottom the height you wish to raise it.
  19. Try turning the sun intensity level down. Otherwise you will need to post the plan.
  20. Put a roof on your model. A foundation with a floor is also recommended.
  21. Here is an easy quick way to add additional realism to your PBR model. - Go to Google maps and capture a street view, used snipping tool. - Place a Polyline Solid in the background and apply the captured Google Street view as a texture. - Scale and shift accordingly to get the right position and proportions. - Run a PBR with it and save pic. Run another PBR without it and save pic. - Drop both into Photoshop and erase out the unwanted Google Sky. 1st PBR Scene - no Google Street view. 2nd PBR Scene - with Google Street view. Final Scene - Combined with Google Street view sky erased.
  22. If you just detest making endless changes to light and sun settings this technique might be worth taking a look at. - Make sure to have at least one light in your scene, turn it off to override CA's generic light. - Toggle the sun to "Off", might also want to change the sun intensity setting to "0" just to make sure. - Now use the Material Emissive settings level to make surfaces appear lit. - Start with major surfaces such as ceilings, floors and walls. You can tweak minor materials as needed.
