There are som cases that I've encountered where the materials tab doesn't list a particular element to modify.  Sometimes this is because the Plan was migrated from a prior version that didn't include that element.  In other cases it's something that CA simply missed in the software.

IAE, I find that careful use of the Material Painter can take care of the problem.  But be careful and make sure you uncheck Blend Colors with Materials so that you don't get a mess.

It does sound like a window that did not display. ESC would get you out of that. Do you have more than one monitor?

Of course that was it.  One of the monitors was turned off.  That's where the extra window was.

Does that mean I can go to Scott's posts and vote them down?  COOL

Did you try it on a Floor Material Region - recessed? 

It must be some strange calculation.

I selected a Material Region to Edit - Then Selected EDIT

When I subsequently selected Plan Material Chief hung up - nothing was selectable.  ESC got me out but if I tried to open another window such as Chieftalk before hitting ESC then I couldn't do anything and had to use Task Manager to close Chief.

See the attached pic.  It just seems like a total "disable" of the window.  Maybe there was an underlying window that I couldn't see.

What are Reputation Points ?

Are they good or bad?  Scott has 6 and I only have 2 - maybe it's a new Golf Handicap System. 

OTOH, maybe it's a grade for how verbose you are

I'm looking for a 4'x6' Tile Inset for a Wood Floor in the Entryway.  I'ld like something with a medalion and a field of tiles surrounding it with an additional tile border.  Does anyone have something like this or do I need to construct it myself?

Maybe there's a pic on the internet someplace that would work as a material.

I want to know why they only insert into Cabinet Doors?  I would have thought that they could be placed in an Opening.

Actually it would be nice if that was the default mode - or at least if we had a way of setting it as a preference.

In order to do this you simply need to select the "Use Full Editor" button at the bottom of the screen.

Is there a way to get the most recent posts at the top of this window? Right now the most recent is at bottom and I must scroll down to see most recent.

You indicated They will however be available in an "archived" read only state for some time.  Essentially thru 2014.  IMO that's not long enough.  OTOH, it might be nice to enforce the guidelines about keeping on topic within the new threads on the new forums.

I might also say that I think that all moderators should be a bit "thick skinned" about criticism.  Sometimes users get frustrated - it's not personal.  I have in fact seen and been ripped by at least one moderator on a couple of occasions - which I didn't believe was in any way justified and caused me quite a bit of emotional distress.

There is a tremendous amount of useful information in the old forum.  It would be a crime to lose that.  There should be some way to save that content for posterity - no to mention the educational material for both current and future Chief users.
