I am assuming the ability to label headers on the plan is new to X10 (other than macros others have done) I'm not concerned about their sizes (yet) The gap is actually correct. The labeling is incorrect. They should be labeled (as in the door OR window schedule) either (2) 2x_ HEADER or 2X_ HEADER (2) NOT 2 labels for each part of the header, does not visually look good, nor is it readable. I was hoping maybe someone had seen this and knew of a quick fix or a toggle button I can not find. It absolutely is not worth my time to go through the plan and suppress half the labels and add (2) to the other half for this to work. If this is the case the header info can stay in the schedules where it displays properly. I hope Chief did not add this function for it to operate this way as it makes no sense.

Am I doing something wrong, the new headers draw 2 members and label each one separately, i.e 2X8 Header rather than (2)2X10 Header. The headers in door and window schedule are still correct. Maybe there is something I am missing.

Now that X10 is out, is it possible to get these macros to work in a RTB? I have written a couple of simple macros that give me the answer in the macro editor, but can not get in the place I want it. My Ruby knowledge is a 2 out of 10, but learning.

Very Impressed: I did end up running through lightroom to fine tune a few things. I exported at 3000 wide and at 300dpi and it looks really good. There were a few extra lines that showed up and I am not sure how to report it to the support team.

I watched your video and did "key notes" for a demolition plan. Worked perfect, thank you. It works well especially when I have a repeated note to remove a door, I can just copy it and it looks much better than numerous leader lines. Is it a simple answer on how to get it to work with elevations?

Hoping this is an easy fix, but started using the Framing Schedule and all the material is fir and of course the City of Atlanta plan reviewers have no sense of humor. Is there a way to modify all wood to #2 SYP?

OK, I have set up door and window schedules the way I want them in a plan. I have several other plans started that I would like the same defaults. Is there a way to copy these defaults to another plan file with out recreating again??

The problem with that is there is actually an 8' ceiling up there and rooms using kneewalls. Bu that is the detail I am looking for.

I am trying to set the "roof baseline height" to bear on the I'joists of the second floor similar to the attached sketch. Is this something I have to do manually, or is there a "checkbox" I am missing??

So basically a Brick-4 out of the box is for slab on grade as it says foundation to exterior of red brick and needs to be modified when using foundation walls to outside of stud??

So basically if do a main level and then do a basement with foundation walls, then I have to turn off "FOUNDATION WALL", align and then turn on "FOUNDATION WALL"?!?. I have to be missing something. If I turn off FOUNDATION WALL, I have no footing?. Should basements go on Level 1? Not having the main level on Level 1 could cause major OCD issues. Turning the walls FOUNDATION off did work marvelously however, no footings.

It is not doing either of those, it actually is moving one wall 6" out of line.

Seems recently I have noticed walls not aligning (no where close) when I use the align command. I am having particular issues with the exterior walls on the attached plan. I have tried all sorts of different ideas and just can't find that simple fi that I know is there. On a different project, I had to move all the upstairs 2X4 walls 2" to properly align with 2X6 below. I do not ever recall having issues before X9. Lindsey.zip

I do both residential and commercial design and I am starting to use CA for Tenant spaces. So I have 2 areas I need advise on. Creating the roof: Is it best to build a roof system without a ceiling? My goal would be to draw ceiling plans in at the various heights required. The plans I have done where the ceiling heights vary look terrible with the different wall heights in a "floor overview" Ceilings: I have tried ceiling planes and the ceiling height via macro reverts back to the ceiling height in the structure. I have also tried using a 1" polyline solid but there is no way to add the height with a macro. Ideally I would like to make a solid, set it to correct height, assign a material and then have a label to show height (in feet and inches) and the material. This is for the RCP. Drawing the grid in 2D or hatching for drywall works fine for me. Any ideas??

I have had issues with temporary points showing as grey lines that appear and disappear during zooming. Deleting temporary points gets rid of it.

Three in the morning and just discovered not being able to edit lines in the layout box as they leave a shadow, not good. Any solutions on this?

Is there anyway to take a another design such as a unattached garage from a different CA file and add it to my main house plan? I have a project where the existing garage is not at the same finished floor and at an odd angle to the home and makes it unsuitable on the same file, but would like for it to show in the 3D renderings...

That is very interesting because my section looks nothing like that. It is an existing structure so is a non issue for me, although I tried for a while to get the program to generate 2X10's rather than I-Joist and it just generated shorter I-Joists even though I changed the setting to "Lumber" The "balloon wall" makes the most sense as that is what it is and I was not even aware there was an option for that. That fixed the problem.
