  1. Nothing personal guys,LOL Dennis is right, I was visiting my uncle in LA and pizza sucked...

You guys ever in NY drop me a note and I will tell you where to go to get the best pizza.

If you in Brooklyn you have to try Juliana’s Pizza  http://julianaspizza.com/  Depends when you go there, the waiting time could be 1hr,

Most places in NY make good pizza in all 5 Boros, if you can't make pizza, you will close the doors a month later, because there can be 2-3 places every 2 blocks. Have a few friends who own pizza places and you can pull about 10k a week in business.

If you like "Old School" Dining, you have to try Belmont Tavern in Jersey, famous place for " shrimp beeps" and no matter what's on the menu (you lucky if they bring you one, if they don't, don't ask for it) the food is the best.(no reservations, they will laugh at you if you try to make one... so not always you will get a table, depends when you go there... get there by 5pm you will get a table(maybe with a little wait) or you will be sharing a table with someone else... by 6pm the line could be around the block) Being there for the first time you will be treated like you lived in the neighborhood for 30 years. Don't ask too many questions and don't piss the waitresses off or make too many requests you will be ignored or if you complain, most likely you will be told "go someplace else if you don't like it".

    It's an experience ;)

  2. Any concealed space with a  floor or ceiling assembly above must be have a fire separation if the area exceeds 1000 sq ft. In residential dwelling attics don't need separation. In the basement yes and you also have to do vertical firestopping between the wall and foundation every 10' OC. When it comes to Commercial. In 1 story dwelling it has to be done between roof assemblies and drop ceiling, or if there is an attics, and you got other requirements when dealing with 3 or more stories above.

@Ken, around here if it's 5' or less from the property line, you have to have a fire rated wall and soffit assembly, no  separation in the attic, but that would also be dependant on jurisdiction.

  3. I have imported several SKP files which have several models/components in the one SKP file. I can use them in my plans just fine - they rotate, etc. However, I cannot find a process to extract individual models/components for use. For example, I imported a SKP that has three individual pendant lights, but I only want one of those lights. I am using CA X8. Thanks!

You have to bring them into Sketchup and ungroup them and save as individual components and import them into sketchup one at the time.

  4. Select your deck and DBL Click (or use a shortcut if you have it set) and open DBX > Select Deck Support> and under Deck Beam enter your beam spacing.

Here is an image I hope it helps

  5. Scott, I used his ramp with a railing tool following the steps. You had a video a while back of what you talking about a railing sitting on solid wall framing. I like doing it that way you have more control over it.

In this case I just used his plan and and used railing tool.
