  1. What do you mean by this? If helpful send a picture or sketch of what you are trying to do. I am new to CA as well..... Roofs are simple once you get the hang of it. A little daunting at first though.
  2. I was able to successfully add an invisible wall at the exterior most wall edges of this porch. Then I adjusted the floor to the approximate level where you had the deck boards. Then I changed the flooring to a deck board material. I would upload the file but I can't figure out how to save to X15. Shane
  3. I had no problems moving the boards. I turned the layer on in plan view and moved them. There might be more efficient way to accomplish what you are trying to do.
  4. Thanks.... This is a good work around. I might run this up the flagpole to support just to see what they say about it.
  5. Good morning all I have a project with a fence that attaches to the home. For some reason just under the eave at where the fence intersects the house there is a wall artifact. Anyone know how I can suppress it? See attachment. the place I am referring to is on the left side of the home near the ac unit up underneath the eave edge. Can be seen clearly in 3d view. thanks in advance for the help. Shane 188WindwardReno 3.plan.zip
  6. This thread helped me today. Thanks a few years too late!
  7. Thanks to everyone for weighing in on this,.... It appears the railing and the newel post are on the same layer. This explains why they both have the same line style. I need to figure a way to have the posts on a different layer.
  8. I call myself looking there..... I will look again and dig further. Thanks
  9. Hi All Is there a way to configure the rail wall w/post to beam config to display on plan with dashed lines for the beam and solid lines for the posts? Currently the plan lifework displays the same for posts and beams alike. Before I sidestep this with a work around I wanted to make sure there want another way. Thanks Shane
  10. That address the porch, but what about the grade beams that have sold lines on one side..... That appears to be a change in elevation. Maybe check that room elevation.
  11. Did anyone come to some sort of conclusion on this?.... I am running into this issue as well. I want random length plates, headers, and such to be cut from 16' lengths but rafters and such to be cut from the next increment length up if it's a certain length or more.
  12. Yes.... I was referring to plywood decking on the roof and subfloor. I would like to see a plywood decking layout with a quantity. Common takeoff methods are to calculate the roof area and divide by 32.... it would great though is the program actually placed the plywood on the roof in a way that could be displayed showing takeoff quantity is accurate with whole pieces and cut pieces. Sounds like it may be a good enhancement request.
