Sounds like you don't have a layout open when you are sending the plan to layout. There is a template location, but I don't use it. I use a variation of the SAM (Save As Method). I keep the layout for that project within the folder I have for that project. Place the layout and plan file you created in there. Have the layout open and the plan file open when you send the plan to layout.

Thanks Scott.
The weird thing is with Windows 8.1 Pro is I cannot "Send to Compressed Folder". I have create a FULL BACKUP to my Dropbox account and then compress it. I've attached the error in case that helps.
Thanks,
Don't know if you saw the post earlier in the thread...but if the file size is smaller than 25MB, you can just attach the plan file itself. Not need to full backup to attach it here. Just make sure CA is closed out first before attaching the file.

There you go, post the plan and you have an answer in about 132.38 seconds.........
I got 132.32 seconds...

It appears the double doors are on a different layer also. The "All On" set doesn't have all the layers turned on as I expected. Make sure they are all on and you will see your missing items and then just check the layer they are on.
-
Found it....the windows are on a layer called "CAD, Metal Girts". They were on a different layer. Looks like it happened while changing layers of something else.
-
Thanks Scott.
Don't know if it is just me....but I can't download the file now. maybe try attaching the file itself without all the materials.
Edit - Got it now
-
diddo...what Scott said.
-
Check that your "All On" layer actually has all the layers turned on. otherwise, post a plan and we can look.
-
Could it be on a different layer?
-
Turn on the "slab"' layer.
Andy.
Andy got it. I turned on slab and it showed up.
-
I downloaded it and only see materials.....no plan file.

I purchased these macros and they are proving to be a time saver already.
One of the best things is that knowledge of programming a macro in NOT needed. Now, I do have just a little bit of knowledge....but to someone who doesn't have the knowledge, it would just be placing the macro in the label.
With the openings macro, I don't need to manually calc out the glazing percentage...it is automatic.
My biggest client loves the roof macro. It take just a little more setup...but again...no programming macros...just inserting and changing each roof plane with it's own line weight and each roof plane is clearly identified with it's own information listed as you see in the picture above. Easy- Peasy!
SqFt display is also great. Joe is tweaking a few things to my liking, but it is the same concept...No programming!
The only thing that I wasn't aware of (and to me isn't a big deal) is that for it to display nicely, you need to use a "fixed font" similar to "courier new".
-
I think Joe accidentally grabbed a floor joist while trying to show the "specify label" button in the DBX assuming it would be the same for a truss. The Truss label tab only gives "suppress" or "position or orientation".

There must be something else...I just tried to open a file and I get it again. This file synced up almost an hour ago. I tried opening it 5 times...and nada! It sucks as I don't want to shutdown my computer each time this happens.
-
I have gotten this too. I don't know for sure...but I noticed if OneDrive is syncing the file, I can't open it. when OneDrive completes syncing, I can open it. Funny thing is that it doesn't seem to do it with all files.

I'll throw another point in too..

X7 appears to be ART's "VISTA". I'm afraid to upgrade due to my old desktop.
I don't believe that X7 is CA's Vista. You mentioned you have an old desktop and I can understand not upgrading on it being an old desktop. However, you will have that same concern when X8 comes out. So the concern appears to be more of your hardware being able to handle X7 rather than X7 itself.

I'm running the new iMac 5K, I can't imagine that it is a hardware problem
Maybe try to re-install. I definitely haven't seen this issue on my PC or mac. We can't assume that it isn't hardware related just because you have the latest and greatest...maybe there is a piece of faulty hardware. It may be a CA issue for TS....no way of knowing...... Contact TS, they will be able to narrow it down (assuming you haven't already contacted them).

When I opened the preferences to rest and I pick the one that said reset side windows instead. Seem to make more sense and it worked. I'm always afraid of resets because I don't want to screw up my custom tool bars. Still not sure if your suggestion of resting the size of dialog would have done it also?
Thank You
You got a point...got you in the right direction though. Glad you got it figured out.
-
I would say it is docked somewhere off the screen. Happened to me once. If you go into Preferences and "reset dialog sizes" it should bring it back.

"I am having a problem with my plan.....can someone help?"
Do I win Alan?
I agree with Micheal...without a plan to look at...I think it may be on the wrong floor.

It says "Full" now. So I think you made it. Look forward to seeing you there!

If you look at it at 16 Terabytes...it seems huge. but if you think of it as 17,592,186,044,416 Bytes...it doesn't seem like much.
Go SSD...it will change your life!!

I would say do it quickly...if you are looking for the "advanced" portion. I just looked and it says there is only 1 spot left. When I got mine a week ago it said 4 spots left. Everything else says "limited seating"...either way...looks like it is filling up quickly.
Why stainless steel looks different?

Just throwing it out there....does the camera angle matter? Also it looks like two different types of camera views.....a floor camera overview and the other is a camera generated from inside the room. Have you tried using the exact same camera style and angle in both plans?
