  1. Indeed and hence by my definition it doesn't run because I cant use it. It will sometimes not generate camera views ( I get a white screen and then the program crashes ) or I do get a view but with messed up textures. eg below. First image is taken with X9, second image with X10. Same file, same notebook. Currently the latest version does not fulfil my basic needs as I cant show this to clients in the field.
  2. And it still doesn't run on the latest MacBook pro .......
  3. You Sir are a scholar and a gentleman ! Very much appreciated
  4. Hi folks, I would really like the base cabinet fronts to have the same appearance despite the differences in size. The door panels are auto resizing, I don't want this. The how is this done?
  5. iPad, MacBook Pro and an iMac. Client also has a MacBook pro. Don't remember the surface count. While the SD version works fine for general viewing and construction details I really need the HD version ( as in interior designer ) to view all the finishing details. Quite disappointing that the technology is not there yet and I have to resort to the old ways. *sigh*
  6. Its only a 915 square foot apartment! Cant possibly have too much data and if it does then the whole 3D viewer is pretty much useless to me and my clients.
  7. HI folks, so suddenly the 3D viewer doesn't want to work any more. I get the "insufficient memory error" when trying to load the HD model ( the DS model works fine ). I thought it just my computer but the clients gets the same on their side. I only have 2 active models in the cloud. Dunno?
  8. Yep, just happened to me. Thanks for this post Glen ! All good now
  9. Im using both an iMac and MacBook pro as my tools. Not experienced any issues yet. What generation Macbook are you using?
  10. Yep, thanks guys ! that will do. Half an hour of trying to figure it out by myself and 2 seconds for a workable response. Chieftalk is awesome
  11. Hi all. How dow get my bottom 2 steps to have a different width from the rest? I need to recreate the stairs below but can't find any applicable settings to do that?
  12. Hi Eric. I tried that but it adds a second floor over the whole space. I need it just above the front part.
  13. Hi folks. Have an issue thats doing my little head in. Im busy with the interior design of a restaurant expansion and need to create a mezzanine spanning the entire length of the place but stops just short of the windows. I can fake it using a PS ( see pic below ) but obviously I'm going to run into issues when placing outlets in the floor and placing furniture etc. I need to create a proper floor here that I can build walls on. I have searched the forum and even consulted the extensive reference manual to no avail Any help will be highly appreciated. MrIndia.plan
  14. Im all Mac because of the ecosystem. The iCloud, as mentioned above, is very useful when visiting clients and/or working on different machines.
  15. I like where this is going folks Update, 10 passes around 7 mins Although now I have lost the definition around the base !
  16. Thanks for the effort Graham. Perhaps its the model I'm using from 3Dwarehouse that is the problem? Would you be able to send me you whisky glass to test under the same circumstances and settings?
  17. HI Guys and thanks for the feedback so far. I have pretty much everything set like you suggested the only difference being the number of passes. I will run this overnight and report back in the morning
  18. This one for all the ray trace experts out there. I have been practicing for a while now and I was running a test today of a whiskey glass containing ice cubes. After about 36 passes I got to this stage below. Will this 'noise' clear up if I let it run all night or will I have to change the settings?
  19. Multiple copy the lights around 3" apart at the elevation required. Set the intensity to custom +- 4% ( really low ) and change the color to suit you. This is the effect I get below.
  20. You bloody Genius ! See, its always something easy that gets overlooked most of the time Thanks for the super speedy reaction time Michael !
