  1. Thanks Eric, That opens up a whole new dimension.
  2. Found the answer. https://www.google.com/search?q=change+an+objects+layer+chief+architect&rlz=1C1CAFB_enUS640US640&oq=chang&aqs=chrome.0.35i39j0i67i433j69i59j69i57j0i10i67i457j0i20i263j0i10i67j0i433.5613j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  3. This sounds good. I can't find the method for changing an Object's Layer (specifically Stairs in this case) unless it is in the Properties Popup.
  4. Morning All, I created a Layout Template from an existing Layout. Of course it still tried to reference the original Plan File. Is there a way to delete this reference of to start make a copy that does not include this reference? Thanks
  5. The objective is to import the Material List into the databases. This is proving to be a multiple cut and paste process, because the data needed for filtering, and grouping, is not contained entirely in either the Schedules or the Material Lists. I will report the progress here or on the Chief group on Facebook.
  6. We're in the same boat. I think ultimately I will have to use multiple exports. You can click the upper left corner of the List and copy it and paste it into Excel. The same applies to the Schedules, click and copy to paste into Excel.
  7. UIpdate: The Number column in Schedules is equivalent to the ID column in the Material List. When this number is displayed in a category specific Schedule it follows the ID designation. When they are displayed in the Custom Schedule they have the designation it makes them all start with a "G"
  8. Hey Guys, Is there a way to include the "Category" as a column in the Custom Schedule? In the Material List there is not a heading for "Room Name" and in the Custom Schedule there is "Room Name", but no way to categorize them list. Any ideas? Thanks,
  9. True, but only after it goes through every sheet prior to alloying changes to the print options. I'm hoping to disable this feature until the which sheet to print has been selected.
  10. I'm referring to the print dialog box not the individual layouts. Does your suggestion still apply? Thanks.
  11. I hope this is me being the nut-behind-the-wheel, because if not, this is annoying. When you open the print dialog box, it automatically Previews the entire drawing set, even if all you really want to do is print one page. What's u[ with that?
  12. I modified the Square Recessed Light to be a Note. I turned the lumens off (custom set to zero) with labels "To Floor Above" and "To Floor Below"
  13. Never-mind. He is going back and selecting the second set of stairs, not drawing it. The video was edited a little early.
  14. In this video Scott uses the Alt Key to get the "Landing" section to curve. It doesn't do that for me at all. It simply pivots the starting point. And Ideas? Thanks https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/394/creating-winder-stairs.html?playlist=89
  15. Hey Eric, Thanks for trying to help. It turns our that if you have sent a plan view to the layout page it wont update if you toggle on the reference view in plan. You have to re-send it to the layout page.
  16. I tried to do that, but the Chief WEB site was not letting my images upload. So I was left trying to describe it. Ryan above was on the right track, I had a reference to an existing as-built. Chief wouldn't let me delete it. All I needed to do was change it.
  17. Is it possible to display a reference in a layout page?
  18. The answer is, that I had replaced the default reference with the external reference, oso it would not allow a deletion. The solution was to switch back the default using the Plan Drop-down in the Reference List.
  19. The upload link does not appear to be working
  20. Having trouble either switching to the local image or deleting the As-built. Any ideas
  21. This is not what I was referring to, but yes that would be nice. Thank you.
