  1. Wow, that is exactly the type board and batten I have been trying to create but I just can't seem to get there!
  2. Hello all---is there any way to control the 'lites' in the bottom of a window so you can only have the center vertical lite? When I check off 'Lites in Bottom' in the attached dialogue box, it removes all lites. Other window types like Prairie result in the same thing. The 2nd attachment shows what I am trying to do (e.g. the red vertical line).
  3. Wow Kbird1---this REALLY helped me. I have been struggling with very low interior lighting for a while where most all renders are so dark. These settings instantly fixed the problem. I was starting to believe it was my hardware. Oddly though, the lighting in Chief renders will magically appear much brighter on rare occasions after making a setting change on an object within the view.
  4. Thank you SO much. I never thought of that. Genius.
  5. For interior windows (between two rooms), is it possible to switch the interior side of the window with the exterior side? It would essentially reflect about the object or rotate the window 180 degrees. I am ultimately trying to control how the room names appear in the window schedule where the 'interior' room appears first in the room name.
  6. Joey---do you have the batten material shown here available? I am embarrassed but can't see how to create such a material to use as a Material Region.
  7. Good to know. I have x12 but still can't connect a rope light to a switch. I have tried in a tray ceiling as well as a stand alone light. Is there a secret to it?
  8. I was able to use the 'create a symbol' technique mentioned here, and then connect a switch. I noticed there appears to be line voltage options for this now. 120V LED Light Strips: Long run strips for indoors and out! - LEDSupply Blog
  9. OK---I just figured it out. I had to turn on Walls, Layers in the camera view. Thank you! DREW
  10. Hi, yes I did. So I can see the framing in 3D with the Framing Overview cam. But the walls look like this with no drywall...
  11. Does anyone know why this tip (at link) will not work? https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03045/displaying-studs-on-an-unfinished-wall.html The main layer still shows up as flat/solid wood vs. seeing the framing/studs. Thank you, DREW
  12. I am sorry for not posting the pics and really appreciate the help. On your last post @rgardner you reminded me that the settings for a pony wall can be selected in plan display to show lower wall, upper wall, etc. Selecting a different choice did it for me. Thanks again.
  13. Thank you guys---great suggestions. I just figured out that the bottom of the window height cannot be within a certain distance of the wall cap height within this pony wall. Really weird that is disappears at certain heights. I can't get it to work at the exact height I want but will make do.
  14. In the same room, I have multiple other windows that display fine in plan view. But one window is not appearing. It displays fine in 3D and I can click on it in plan view but it does not show up correctly. Any ideas?
  15. That's a great suggestion Kbird1. I will give it a shot. I had them 'hidden' up in the attic and it does slow things down.
  16. Solver, yes! I am so thankful for your help. The newer cabinet schedule had the incorrect numbers and the original schedule is correct. Thanks again so much---I will just stick with the one schedule.
  17. Happy 4th! Go America! Please help as I am going crazy over the cabinet numbering in my plan. The Cabinet Schedule appears to list the cabinet numbers properly, but the plan view is incorrect and does not match the schedule. I have tried renumbering the Schedule and adjusting settings in the Schedule as well as the cabinet Label module. If I choose within the Schedule to display labels, it does indeed show them in the plan correctly, but it also shows the incorrect labels too. Here is the view (attached as 1.png) if within the Schedule it is set for Callout for Label OFF (e.g. cabinet C36 in Schedule vs. C20 in the plan): And the view (attached as 2.png) if Schedule setting with Callout for Label set to ON (shows both labels in the plan but they are different!): And here (3.png) is the Label dialogue within the cabinet itself (nothing changes if I check Automatic Label vs. Specify Label): Components dialogue (4.png): Object Information dialogue (5.png): I really appreciate your help.
  18. Thank you! Wall Top Heights, and then Balloon Through Ceiling Above on the Walls worked. Thanks again.
  19. Does anyone know how I can rebuild walls after changing the roof pitch? A picture is attached of the problem. The roof planes are all manual (not auto). Rebuild walls F12 does not do anything. I am really hoping to not have to redraw all the roofs and walls. Thank you!
  20. Agree with you guys on the "real world" comments! Mine is not as challenging as typical crown because it is just a simple/rectangle 1x2. I will investigate the 3D molding polylines. Thank you all.
  21. I have searched the forums but only see very dated posts on this topic. Is there an easy way to make crown molding follow the angle / slope of a non-flat ceiling? I have attached a picture and placed red arrows where the crown would be applied.
