Multiple ways. Just think about the tools you have available.

    Thanks Solver,
What confuses me is that this needs to span multiple floors. But maybe it makes no difference.
    Looks like from your example,
    you have one floor house
you probably sketched three walls attached to one side of house
maybe you defined it as porch thus creating a concrete patio
my guess is you simply deleted the left and right sides leaving only the front wall
then on the front you sketched a polyline thingy and used that to make hole in wall that cut away all but the top arched section
    Am I close?

  2. The red line sketched on 3rd floor plan is how I am currently approaching this. It will form a box that I cut away what I don't want.
Alternatively, I could model entire addition, import and easily move into position. Problem is it will not have roof plane functionality.
Or I could model and import everything except red, which will allow for roof planes.
I was thinking perhaps a rounded top window for the front opening and rectangular windows on sides for openings but need it clear for columns.
Am I completely off track here?
    Thanks for your suggestions.
    Rocky

Architecturally, shutters don't belong on those windows, so take the easy and most correct way and just remove them.

Thanks, I spoke to the architect. He said,"Yeah, but the customer wants shutters anyways."
So given that I need to find a way to bring shutters and arch to the forefront.
    My only ideas..
    1. Make shutters a symbol and import into plan and place in x,y,z (PIA, given I need to do it six times)
    2.
Make shutters a symbol and check Insert Into Wall.
Are there other possibilities, no matter how time intensive?

You create a Wall Cutout Polyline by opening the symbol specification dbx and on the options panel, checking Inserts into wall.

While you are there, enter the Depth as 6".

Select the window and on the Edit toolbar click Edit Wall Cutout Polyline.

Oh, I had to change the Y Position Origin Offset to -6" to get the window in the correct location in 3D and cut a hole.

    That all works for 3D.

You will probably have to create a new 2D cad block for the wall hole in plan view.

I see you using the Edit Wall Cutout Polyline in the video. If you don't have a Wall Cutout Polyline, why are you using Edit Wall Cutout Polyline?

    I'm sorry. I have version 11 and I cannot open version 12.
Someone suggested using EWCP. I was hoping a pass-through window WAS a wall cutout polyline. I guess not. Would you please export as version 11. I'd really like to see the results. Thank you!!!

I can't see the edit toolbar - it is cut off.

Why are you using a passthrough to make the wall hole?

The Wall Cutout Polyline does that.

Post that plan with the custom window symbol placed.

Here you go. I've never used Wall Cutout Polyline. I've never seen the tool.
If  the Edit Wall Cutout Polyline edits a Wall Cutout Polyline, what creates one?

I tried it. I can see shapes changing but a hole in wall is never created.
    Thx
