  1. Does anyone know how to build the framing for the CBS walls? In the "Wall Type Definitions" dialog box, it shows 1 1/2" fir studs 24" OC, however, it does not report those studs in the material list nor does it give an option to "build framing" thanks
  2. @DRAWZILLA.. it does not update automatically.. youhave to close the open material list and generate a new one. But if you have anything that you added to the material list..such as prices.. additional notes etc. that all will be lost once you regenerate the material list. The objective is to have the material list update automatically without having to close it and create a new one.....(thus saving all manaul data)
  3. no F12 does not refresh or update the material list. This is crazy.
  4. ok thanks Kilgore. that makes sense. @kbird, i see on your 1st list is says 323 blocks..and on the second list 289. both with 10x10 CMU house. Again, I guess I am expecting too much from a 2000$ program, for it to calculate the correct # of blocks.
  5. I have created a material list on a plan, however if I go back into the plan and modify something..anything.. it does not update the material list. How can I accomplish this, WITHOUT having to generate a new material list?
  6. @Kilgore. you are right sir. I hope the contractors are as honest as you!! So based off of that, the material list is correct. HOWEVER.. take a look at this...when I do the same thing with only CMU.. (no CBS, no stucco..no nothing, just straight blocks).. it calculates it different at 359 blocks.. which would reflect 4, 10' walls at 12 course. So the CBS walls calcualte right..but the CMU does not..
  7. Or I can just copy & paste the one that was in the Layout sample from CA!! I guess I was just expecting too much from this software! anyways thanks for the suggestions people.
  8. @Archijeff2000... that video is hilarious.!! @Electroman.. yah that sounds more like "optimal".. move the AC and attach the garage!
  9. I apologize for posting so much, however these are simply questions I could not find the anwer to via google, or searching on the forum. Is there a way to create a legend in the layouts automatically that is auto populated, just like the schedules? I found this one below in a CA sample plan...
  10. @GerryT, you are incorrect, I have the concrete blocks set to 'count', not by sq ft. (that is just how it is set up as default anyways) so a 10x10 structure at 12 course, (8 feet) would be 360 blocks. you can check any block calculator and it will tell you that. http://www.cemexusa.com/ProductsServices/BlockCalculator.aspx And for the stucco, it is suppose to be 320 sq ft, not 343sq ft -------- @lbuttery, you are right.. but I do not understand why after so many years CA can not get this correct. This is one major aspect where they fall short and the competition will wipe them out.. because of this and how many other 'bugs' in the software.
  11. ok thanks Kilgore and DrawZ I will not paint the walls!
  12. ok here is the plan CMU_MATERIAL_LIST_ERROR.zip
  13. @ Dan Park...sure how do I do that?
  14. here it is just with CBS... it should read 360 blocks total in the material list
  15. @NRST8.. there is no "floor/roof truss" only "floor/ceiling truss" Is that what you meant?
  16. @Electroman..where is the rendering??!?
  17. hey Perry, incredible that CA has not fixed this yet.. and glad that i am not the only one encountering this or else I would sould like a crazy person! But how to "change the finish back to default conditions" as you suggested?
  18. I am trying to figure out this material list... I am running test to see if it calculates correctly..and here is what I found. On a 10x10 (exterior).. i am using CBS. (8' height, 12 course) ON the material list it states that there is 343 sq ft of stucco... However if individiually calculated manually. there is 4, 10" walls at 8' height..which should be = 320sq ft. >> ALSO, it calculate the # of blocks wrong.. it says 332 blocks total.. when it should be 360. If I just do straight CMU, with no stucco or facade..it calculate correctly at 360.(359) What is going on here?
  19. I have a problem here...it seems more like a bug... I will explain in as general as possible. 1) i have an exterior wall of CBS 2) Then I change the stucco color..by painting it using a stucco material from library. 3) I change my mind of the wall type, select the wall, and change it to "Siding-6" But it does not change the wall. It remains the CBS. I know that this is happening because I changed the color of the stucco on the initial wall. But WHY would it not update the wall when I select and change it to "Siding-6" ? Is there a way to REMOVE the material that I applied on the initial wall? I obviously do not want to re draw all of my walls.. and I know that everyone must have encountered this...
  20. I can't just select the floor joists that were built automatically and change them to a web truss? There is a drop down list with other types (I joist, engineered lumber, LVL, glulam, c-channel, etc)
  21. well well.. does anyone know how to do that? lol
  22. MANUALLy?!?! what the heck is going on with this program
  23. @Joe, what default do I change? I understand that everything is controlled through the defaults, but my question is how to change the floor joists to a floor truss? What setting do I change? PHOTO ATTACHED >>> FLOOR TRUSSES
