  1. Thank you for sharing your findings, I was starting to think I was going crazy
  2. I would have continued to use my X9 but I jumped the guns and deleted my X9 copy and can't seem to be able to download it again. Rookie mistake lol
  3. Thank you Mick, as always your help is greatly appreciated. I was reading the conversation you sent and although I am glad I am not the only one being affected by this, I think I will continue to use x9 for a bit longer.
  4. Thank you Mick, this was my first update and I had assumed that the library would update as well, I guess it isn't so?
  5. I was getting very good results with RT prior of upgrading to X10. My usual settings were a few lights around the area I wanted to render, and I would use uniform intensity at 1.5. I was able to get good results consistently and I often received compliments on my renders from my customers. A customer of mine has asked me to finished the interior of a project we started on a few months back and I am finding that with X10, my scenes are ending up washed out, no shadows nor details. So I've tried Ambient Occlusion in several ways, at min 0.1 max 0.4 and min 0.1 max 4.0, the scenes are too dark, some nice contrasts but anything metal looks unnatural and dark. I've tried this about a million ways and I am at a loss. Any thoughts? I have attached the project, some pics, etc. Thank you all. Bella.plan.zip
  6. I use QBO and I too like having online access on all my devices. However, I have experienced what others have mentioned already, issues with setting accounts etc. and it costed my $1200.00 to hire a consultant to fix it.
  7. Have you been able to test an iMac Pro? For a while I had pondered upon the idea of buying an older Mac Pro 12 cores, so that I could easily update the video card, ram etc.

Thank you for your reply. A little disappointed though

    X 10 VR

Does the X10 VR only work on windows ? Or is there a way to get it to work on mac also?
  10. Are you referring to something similar to this?
  11. Why is this happening? Any thoughts?
  12. What kind of issues are you having? When I updated to Sierra I was having a jumpy mouse. I had to turn certain settings off on Sierra and it has been working good since then.
  13. Hello, I didn't have all of the textures you did but here is the file with roof and foundation. The file that Mick provided you with might be better than mine, you may want to try that one first. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help. Csoport_2B.G-R.plan.zip
  14. Graham is way more knowledgable that I at this, as matter of fact I am trying to learn from his work. I agree with him, I looked at your plan and after rebuilding the roof and the foundation I ran a quick RT and I did not get the same light issue as you did. Unfortunately I'm on a timeline and I need to run a RT for a project of mine and I could not finish rendering yours. Also I ran mine with uniform intensity at 1.5 and I unchecked the use camera view settings. I hope this helps
  15. Have you tried building a roof and foundation? You could also post your plan so we could give it a try.
  16. Hello Mick, Thank you very much for your compliment, I've been using CA for about 45 days and I love it. You were right about the lights, I checked with the cabinets and they were placed way to close to the ceiling. About the pendants, should I set them as spot lights? Or can a point light be set to shine down? I didn't know about the number of lights being used in RT, thank you for the heads up. Is that a setting that can be changed? Or is it a limitation in RT? The floors are hand scraped, thus the bump, but thank you for checking.
  17. I will give it a try changing the DPI. Here is another few RT's of the same project, it rendered in about an 30 minutes each.
  18. I agree, 10 hours is way too long, It happened overnight so I didn't really suffer through it About the cabinets, I actually placed lights inside the glass front and under the cabinets by the range. I was reading Graham's thread and looking around I also found this attached file, it seems it was a thread by Jintu. I hope you are right about x10, sometimes it is good to have many options and customizations but it takes a long time to learn and it seems to me that there is a lot of trial and error in getting a good quality photo. 19. Thank you, will try it out. I was reading the thread Mick suggested and I am very impressed by your results.
  20. Thank you Mick, I hadn't seen your reply until this morning and I was working on several options yesterday. In the attached photo I've changed the floor material, used the bump option for it, added a few camera lights and rendered, however it took 26 passes and it took about 10 hrs. (Obviously is ridiculous) Yours look amazing considering how long it took you to render them. Thank you very much for your suggestions, as always they are very much appreciated. I will try as you suggested and I'll post the results. Before I forget, was your photon mapping on? Caustics?
  21. I've been doing a lot of reading on Ray Trace and looking at many videos and photos. I've tried to apply some of the things that I've learned (at least I think I learned) through my research. However I am finding that for this project my floors look dark, grainy, and with no definitions really and underneath the peninsula the cabinets show a glow around the doors. I am uploading a rendered pic and the project file. To render this photo it took about 2 hours and 26 passes. Any suggestions, comments, will be appreciated. Kitchen Rotem.plan.zip
