I thank you all for your comments - this forum is soo good. This client sent me their plans, also the materials and colors they wanted for the exterior as well as the window style... I'm liking the idea of people, cars etc,,, CA only has silhouettes.. where can I get people ... I am going to follow all of your suggestions Thanks a lot -- 60% of my renderings are exterior so I'm really wanting to get it as good as I can is there a particular version of PIXPLANT I should download

Hi I've attached a screen shot of an exterior rendering I did for a client. Can someone tell me if this is good and how I can improve on my rendering techniques. Guessing its a mix of lighting and adjustments plus I notice the various backdrops make a huge difference in the overall color effect .. HI I am trying to import this siding material the clients wants to see to put on their house . I an import no problem but how can I size it properly - when I use the define material TEXTURE to adjust it just ends up all over the house not as actual siding

this is not for practice..I am not an architect I am a designer,, I do not build houses but can do floor plans and design simple houses. Mostly I create 3D models and rendering service from clients house plans and assist them with adding various materials and colors to the exteriors and interiors so they can see the concept idea before they order products. Been doing this for many years but every now and then a roof comes along that I just cant get it, maybe its a blind spot or my brain - not sure - some of you are probably laughing at this and I don't blame you ha ha Anyway I've loaded the plan with my errors left in so you can see I tried.. This is not practice. Clients send me their house plans so I can build it and show them the various siding and roofing options colors materials etc with so many options for people its sometimes hard to make a decision without seeing it on their your home then they can order the siding etc knowing how its going to look . I have a clot of client that do this. the architect does the design and I create the look. its just that this roof has me stumped

Hi I'm attaching a roof plan with the PDF elevations. I have built the home ok no problem - windows doors etc. but not sure how to read this roof schematic .. I have started it (Gables are in place - the rest is a mess - wondering if I should start again and manually build the gable roofs first and then join to hips . I had the program build the roof and tried to redefine buy got pretty messy any advice is welcome again thanks in advance House Plan (1).pdf

How can I see my house in framing mode only? walls roof trusses gables etc I've done before but for some reason I am having a complete brain freeze.. I know its simple!!! checked videos,, Im missing somethign thanks

Hi How can I easily( joking!!!!) create various terrain areas,, such as what is attached. I've tried but the stalagmites go off the grade. Hi Steve I really like your renderings and techniques you use plus the hints and tips you offer is amazing thank you so much for sharing. I've been using CA for a few years and now have upgraded to X16 several months ago. However I had a virus in my computer a few days ago and lost lots of file etc including my X16. I had to redownload x16 and for some reason the tools and template are a little different from the X16 I had a week ago Anyway my renderings are not as precise and clear as yours - this is the system I have Chief Architect Premier X 16 ALIENWARE LAPTOP NVIDIA GRAPHICS 3070 laptop GPU - DIRECT X12 AMD RYZEN 7 Chief Architect Premier x15 Chief Architect Premier X 11 Chief Architect Premier x 10 home designer pro .....and before the virus I had pretty good renderings- but not near as clear as yours. I had downloaded your 3D images etc and backdrops to my system and lots of other interesting info ( all lost) now I don't know how I did your downloads nor how I got them in to my user library if you have any suggestions - also how do you get such good great finishes. the white house above looks amazing!!! love the tree shadows and how the scenery image works for you thank you again its really good to see only CA renderings as opposed to adding another software.. If I seem like I'm all over the place I probably am!!! Many thanks Levina

just what I'm trying to do but in a gable roof ,, I just cant seem to get it in x16.. is it open to the room below for light or just for decor purposes
