  1. My old Dell AlienWare had top fins that automatically opened when the heat level rose and you would hear a low level fan noise. This new one I dont even know its sitting 3 feet from me. Even when it reboots I hear hardly nothing.
  2. Dell Alienware. $4000 and yes I do mustitask. Screen 1...Client info screen with selections, site phots, etc. Screen 2... Plan view Screen 3.... Camera/elevation views, library
  3. I know the standard base cabinet depth is 24". However, what is the thickness of the door or drawer fronts? Usually 3/4" but with the bumper it makes them 7/8". Does anyone know if the door and drawer fronts are actually 3/4" in CA and is there a way to change the thickness as some of the doors we use are 1" thick. I asks this because on a frameless cabinet when I apply side panels to a cabinet they need to be flush with the doors or drawer heads they are butting in to.
  4. No matter what I do I cant get the plan below the 25MB limit to upload.. Its like 70MB
  5. I am using the same wood material on a lower and upper cabinet side panel (Using PS versus adding a panel in the cabinet dbx) because I need to adjust the sizes based on a few homeowner built in frig options. As you can see in the rendering the bottom panel left of the frig the wood grain runs vertically and the panel above runs horizontal. Both have the same material with same settings. I tried a test and deleted the upper panel, copied the lower panel and slid it up and resized as needed but as soon as I did that it changed the wood texture from vertical back to horizontal. I could understand a possible issue if these were side panels applied in the cabinet dbx but these are independent polyline solids.
  6. FYI. I got my new PC (See the specs in my signature) if anyone is interested in a similar set up and performance it is so much faster than my previous Dell Alienware which at the time of purchase was at the top. This one blows the old one away. Attached is a raytrace that I did on the old Alienware Saturday and started it at 3pm and stopped it Sunday at about 8 am. This same raytrace on my new machine took 47 minutes to get about the same amount of passes.
  7. Each one of these rows of tile is a separate PS with the appropriate tile and pattern assigned to it.
  8. Thanks Dermot for the explanation.
  9. I use multiple PC for BS tile usually as it is not the same tile. May be two row of one tile, a trim piece or center band with a 2nd or third tile them back to the original tile. See a few attached BS / shower tile design we've done. If there is an easier way Im all ears as I also do this for shower walls
  10. I just found a new tool I didn't know was there in the define material box... "Pattern From Texture" When i selected that it changed it to the pattern i needed.
  11. Joe currently I have a PS for the backsplash tile. All I need is it to have a different pattern. But still is it possible to move objects front to back in elevation view
  12. In previous versions back there was the option to bring any object, PS, CAD line to the front or back group. In plan view there is the View Draw Order Tool and it works. However, I dont see that tool option in elevation trying to send a box with a custom fill to the back. In this case behind the vent hood. The backsplash tile Im using is a thin stacked stone however its associated pattern file is a square 12 x 12 tile. I was trying to use a simple line box and fill it with a closer looking pattern without changing the actual time in camera view. Is there a way to do move this to the back group or is there a way to change the associated pattern of that texture.
  13. Ill give that a try. Thanks
  14. Can someone tell me where can I change the setting for when a PS is selected that the temp. dimension is closer to the edge of the PS? See attached. Sometimes when I select a PS the dimension is so far away I have to scroll halfway across the screen to find it. Thanks
  15. I've searched the knowledge base and not finding the exact article. I'm not sure what keywords to use to search. Copy libraries, move library to new PC?
  16. I have the tech coming to the office today to install new PC's. Right now I'm using X10. What is the best way to copy the full data file to insure I catch everything include all imported symbols, images and user library. It seems in the past when I copied the data file and moved I ended up missing tons of material images in my user library. Any recommendations / procedures would be appreciated
  17. I'm interested in someone handling most of our remodel as builts and possibly some of our designs.
  18. I guess the question would be any comments good bad or indifferent
  19. I have a new designer in the office that needs an upgraded PC. So she will be getting my current Dell Alienware of 4 years old and today I will be ordering myself a new Dell Alienware with what I feel is the latest technology / components available thru a Dell build with the three main components. Processor: 9th Gen Intel i9 9900 (8-Core, 16MB Cache, up to 5GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology) Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti 11GB GDDR6 (OC Ready) Ram: 32GB Dual Channel HyperX FURY DDR4 XMP at 2933MHz Only having them install a single 2 TB SSD drive because my local PC tech will install three additional 2 TB SSD for storage as my PC is our pseudo storage server for my office of five other PC work stations. He can do this at a fraction of the cost. Attached is a copy of the build sheet. If anyone has any input. However, I know there are other processors, graphics, etc. out on the general market that may be a little better but not available from Dell in their builds. I'm sticking with Dell as I have both personal and business credit lines and my past four PC's have been Dells and as such I'm getting a $475 discount on this build with 1 year free premium on site service and support with accident damage overage. Thanks
  20. I am doing a rustic master bath where I will be using vintage (farmhouse) finishes and Im looking for some steam punk fixtures such as towel bars, towel / robe hooks and TP holder. I will build all this myself but needing to find symbols. Ive checked 3D Warehouse and found full shelves but not these simpler fixtures. Would anyone happen to have anything like the photos I've attached? Ive also attached a few renderings of the bath. Im also using barn door hardware to custom build sliding vanity mirrors to expose recessed med cabinets behind the doors that light up once open. Thanks
  21. I must have a setting messed up. I cannot seem to get a wall elevation view for my framing. Wall framing has been built and when I look at the wall in elevation the wall is there with drywall. When i remove the drywall with the temp delete surface material tool no framing is present. When using the Orthographic Framing Overview tool all the birdseye framing is there. What the best way to be inside a room and get a wall framing elevation showing wall framing, headers, etc.? Thanks
