The saga continues.... I reworked the toolbar and all was good in plan view ( see attached) did an elevation view and the toolbar went crazy (see attached) closed the elevation view and back to plan view the toolbar was good just the way I had set it up before doing an elevations

Thanks. That is what I have done as I explained. Maybe I wasn't clear.

Once you have a tool bar configured the way you want it in a new totally blank new plan then save that plan as a backup plan template in another location, if the tool bar gets messed up, shouldn't you be able use that plan back up of your template to restore? I doesn't seem like a tool bar configuration is saved to a plan template like all other default settings. The other question is I was in the plan toolbar "Default Configuration" and got the toolbar icon settings the way i needed it. I closed chief, reopened, went back into the toolbar config settings, copied the default config and saved it as in this case a new toolbar named Rob's Toolbar". However, I've worked in a plan with the Rob's Toolbar selected and when it has gotten messed up, I've gone back to the stock default config and I see the same messed up toolbar. I figured they would also be separate like a saved back up template/

Rene, You know my system. Are you referring to the toolbar folder in my X-12 C drive folder or my Z drive?

This is about to drive me crazy. I have my toolbar set the way I want it. After making any changes I lock it and in the middle of plans, it disappears. After I close and restart it shows back up but all icons are squeezed together on the top row. My toolbar normally has three rows. Not a plan issue as it has happened in different plans. I do have one 30" and two 27" monitors and move camera views or library to other screens and have multiple views open. Any ideas? Having to unlock and manually put them back in order, spaced and the way I like is a pain.

I have a small project. A client already has a backyard gazebo with open rafters with T&G decking. He wants me to build a small work shop behind the gazebo and extends the gazebo roof over the shop so all matches. There will be 36" between the gazebo and the shop that he wants the roof to cover to create a walkway and a place to have his pool cleaning equipment. Ive drawn the gazebo and the shed and just drug the roof planes from the gazebo over the new shop. The shop will have a vaulted ceiling to match the gazebo but I don't want the T&G wood ceiling. I just want drywall. Is there a way to have two separate materials on the same roof plan? Or do I need to have two separate roof planes... One for the gazebo and covered walkway and one for the shop then connect them.

That worked great. Thank you

Does anyone have a gable strap symbol. Simpson makes one but its not in the library. Did not find one on 3D. Thanks

What setting changes do I need to make to have exposed roof rafters and rafter tails, ridge beam and T&G roof decking> See the attached photo. Thanks

Is there a way (tool) to search all the libraries and locate any missing textures?

Can anyone help me work out my file management set up and how to share user library, templates and layouts. Would like to do a Zoom call and share screen. Of course I will pay for this help. Is anyone available tonight? Thanks A LOT

I did this a while back and for the life of me I cant remember how to do it. How do I add symbols I use frequently to the tool bar such as a particular cabinet, etc. See attached. Thanks

I asked this same question a few days ago and was given a solution to this issue.

Spoke to tech support. Hopefully issue was resolved. Apparently Dell put out an update for all Alienware machines (Alienware Control) They included a new audio component for gaming and that new component is what was causing the issue with CA. Since I don't use the machine for gaming, I didn't care if we uninstalled it.. Once it was uninstalled, rebooted and all was back as before. Ive tested it on several plans and have had no lock ups yet.

Followed all the troubleshooting items on that link and no help. I did go look at my designers PC which is not having any issues (and also has 3 monitors) That machine X-12 version is 22.2.0.54x64 where my pc has 22.3.0.55x64. I did the update last week about when this issue started for me. Have no idea if this is related.

Just changed all three monitors to all the same recommended settings, after reboot tried again. It's funny, no matter what symbol I open the very first time I open the library browser it works to select the first material. When I go back to change the second material it locks. I even went back to plans I did last year and the same happens.
-
Due to vision, I do have different resolutions on the monitors and also I have the icons and fonts on them at 125%. I will change all back to the same exact settings and try again. Thanks for the input. It is strange the only time this happens is with the library browser on a different monitor. DBX boxes does not cause it. I can have for example a cabinet DBX open on a different monitor but when I go to change a material on a cabinet, as soon as the library opens, before even anything in the library becomes visible it locks. A blank library browser screen with the spinning icon. Prior to X12, I had no issues with any previous versions. I had a 27" monitor flanked by two 24" and I had the 27" increased to the 125% don't and icon size. When I say the font and icon size, in referring to the default Windows setting and not the toolbar / font setting in Chief... It remains untouched. I'll update after making the changes Thanks

Previously I had a 27" and two 24" monitors and had no issues.

Does anyone have the following issue??? I have a three monitor set up. Anytime i am working on a plan on my main center monitor then have my library browser floating and have it appear on another screen the program immediately lock up. This is with any plan. Even a default template plan. THe only way to get out is CNT / ALT / DELETE
