I have no scientific evidence to support this but I would venture to guess that for every week (40 hours) of production drawing with Anno sets (properly set up in your base file) you can save at least 4 hours.

Layers, I don't know. There may be a hack somewhere to lose them from the profile plan but I don't know. You an lose all of those Layersets by going into the defaults and changing them from being a part of the defaults. Look at the defaults for Layersets and you will see the connection. First you must delete the Annosets and then you can delete the associated Layersets. I just did a test and got down to three Annosets and about the same number of Layersets.
Bear in mind, if you import something or copy something or grab something out of the library it may have been assembled with other associations so they will ride with the new object.

Copy the words and paste into a text box. I do this all the time for project data.

Post your file to drop box and see if someone else can print it. I was having printing problems with the beta version but the update is working better. Make sure to do a "Back Up Entire Plan" to a folder from your layout file. It will be a big folder but just zip the folder for upload.

I was trying to cheat by adding a polyline to the bay to see if I could make a symbol. I had not thought that the wall would need to be along for the ride. That works great. Thanks, Bill

From what I can tell it is controlled by demons.

What you need to do is plan your drawings well. Your text size is set in your plan file. By knowing what scale you will send your file to layout determines your text size done in the plan file. For me, if I send a plan at 1/4" scale my text is 5". For 1/8" scale 10". For 1" details, 1.5". That puts all the text in layout at close to 1/8" tall actual.

Oh how I love the Utah snow. I have not been there in too long. Our closest area for us is Tahoe right now. We have passes for the Vail resorts and I really wanted to make it out to Utah or Colorado this year but it did not work out. Now that baseball (coaching) season has started I will be lucky to get 2 more days.
In the early 90's I designed and built 3 years of trade show booths for K2 snowboards. After the first show I started snowboarding and didn't put skiis back on until I started teaching my kids about 17 years later. My son just started snowboarding on our last trip (he is 9). He surfs and skateboards so the snowboarding is coming fast to him. Possibly the worst thing we ever did for our kids was to get them a good trampoline. He can do consecutive reversing flips. He is eyeing the terrain park like a fox at the hen house window.

Is there a fill to mimic the batt insulation box that can bend on a curve?
-
Open this one. I think it is fixed but I am not sure I can reproduce it.
1. I left my old hack in place
2. I broke the wall where the problem is at about the stair top.
3. I changed the wall type to have newels with 0" thickness
4. the wall broke but then I selected the door side wall and changed the newels back. (it fixed correctly)
5. I got rid of the extra invisible wall in front of the door
6. I changed the room back to a deck

See attached for the small wall at the end of the wall hack for this end cap fix.

That is what I tried first. No luck.

My background is in film. "Good enough for camera" is the battle cry. I tend to not fix things but hack them. The quick solution based on my wall tweaking was to make that deck room definition a balcony. See attached for my hack. I could not get that railing wall you had intersecting to work no matter what I tried. Keep in mind, I took a really good shot with a baseball to my head yesterday so I may be just typing with my elbows and singing Katy Perry songs....

Nice bend to the rule. Thanks to both for checking into this.

Wow. We can attach files up to 10mb. It's like xmas in March. File attached. The window seat with the issue is at the bottom right portion of the house in plan view "office". I just made a molding to cover the offending area.
Thanks
Alan

I have a bay window on a wall that is a pony wall setup with a stone skirt at the lower section. The bay window is taking on the stone skirt even though I would like the siding to be on the entire bay window. I was hoping that by changing the wall type (as shown in the dbx) the stone would go away but no luck so far. Possibly a bug?

Curt, do you have it working? I have a second license that I could float to you for the weekend if you are stuck.

Thanks Jintu. I will run a few tests today.

The first image shows the Raytrace I am getting with the settings in following images. I would like to get something better. I see a lot of pixelation at the edges and the overall feel is quite blurry. Which setting would be best to play with to get a sharper image. I let this cook for 6 passes in about 4 minutes.
Thanks,
Alan

One way would be to save out a file to only work on the garage. Delete the rest of the house and build your framing. Grab all of that framing and make a block which you import into your main file. As long as that block is on a distinct layer you can show or hide as you wish.

There are a few folks who have kept the older versions around. You might try and contact David Potter. I believe he is one that has mentioned this in the past.

Is there a limit to the size of individual images that you post in the Gallery? Is there a limit to the total size of your posted images?
Thanks,
Alan

I am looking at these two images and wondering if it is really worth it for a quick ray trace vs. just using the standard view with shadows.

The Ray Trace only cooked for about 6 passes in 3 minutes. Fairly small size image.

@Marc, is it disabled in plan view and cross sections? It is not available for 3d views.
