  1. That worked Eric. Thank you. I honestly have no idea what "roof reference layer sets" are. Im sure if/when I learn what they are, it will be life changing. Since I stared using CA a few months ago, I learn some life changing tip almost daily.
  2. When I turn on my roof planes, I can only see the first floor roof planes. When I go to the second floor, I can only see the 2nd floor roof planes. What am I missing to be able to see it all at the same time?
  3. Thats exactly what I was looking for. Thank you, Eric.
  4. I've got a house I'm wanting to basically take a couple of feet out of the width, right through the family room/entry. When I used ACAD, there was a "stretch" command that worked really well for stuff like this. You just kinda drew a window around what you wanted to make narrower or wider and then tell it by how much. Is there an easy way to this is CA? The only way I know how to is move every single item on the right 2 feet to the left, which a beating.
  5. I may not have sent the updated plan, Eric. Thank you. Its updated now
  6. Trying to get this gable over the entry. Im sure its a simple click of a button, but I can't figure out what how the heck to do it. Thanks in advance... Gober 10.14.plan.zip
  7. Any idea why I can't see my roof plane lines on my floor plan? The layer is turned on, but they are not showing. When I look at any elevation/perspective or any other views, it shows up fine. HAWNIKS FINAL.plan.zip

    roof help

    1) Does anyone know why I'm getting these weird birds mouthes on this entry gable? Is that in a setting? 2) I've got 2 random 16/12 pitches in the middle of my roof. How do I change those to 8/12?
  10. I need a 30x42 paper size. How do I change the size of my current 24x36 layout? Or how do I create a new layout that is 30x24?

    wall help!

Thanks for the reply, Jerry. What 2 walls and which one that "already shows up"?

    wall help!

Thanks for the input guys. I sort of fixed the stairs (although there is still something not right) and now I've somehow created the same problem with the wall on the balcony. The floor plan shows a railing, but the elevation shows a wall. Balli2.plan.zip Balli2.plan.zip
  13. I have this wall in plan view, but it's not showing up on any of my elevation views. I've tried everything I can think of, including deleting and redrawing everything, no luck. I'm sure there's an easy answer, but I can't find it for the life of me. (X9)
  14. Hey Jerry. I do think I know you. I believe we've crossed paths a few times in the past. It's good to know another Dallas guy is having success with CA. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it, but it's been good. I feel like I've been in the drafting dark ages for the past decade. Sorry to took me so long to respond. I just saw your post. I guess I need to set up some kind of notifications. Glad you chimed in.
  15. This sounds like a really elementary question, but I've exhausted my search for an answer. If there is already a topic/video/etc, please let me know. I'm trying to figure out how to put in a square footage schedule for the the whole plan. 1st floor AC, 2nd floor AC, garages, porches, balconies, total under roof, etc Is this not something that CA does automatically? Or do I have to somehow manually create it? If its the latter, is there a tutorial or video that would show me how to create it? Something that looks like this...
  16. Why am I missing the front wall of my courtyard? Also, when I auto build a roof, one of the 3 window in the porch disappear. Any advice? Thank you in advance!
  17. I am considering downloading CA in the next few days after consuming hours of videos on here. i'm excited to move from AutoCad to CA. I've been designing houses in AutoCad for decades now and have a huge library of "stock"'floor plans that I use a lot. My question is this: can I import my AutoCad drawings into CA and draw over the top of them to easily recreate them? My plan is to go from AutoCad on PC to CA on Mac, fwiw. Thanks in advance.
  18. Hey all. I'm also in Rockwall and a newer user. Would love to meet up.
