the annotation set you are using is too large. the arrow size is controlled for temp dimensions by the current annotation set

I dont think you can change that. I have my cameras renamed a-a or whatever in my template so for the main dont need to worry.

I would not like to guess at how much I know because as Glenn said you dont know what you dont know. Just as Christopher Columbus did not know what was over the horizon, if anything.

All I know is I can model all the things I need to for the type of work I do pretty well and then get con docs out the door to get paid. I have a basic knowledge of ray tracing but dont do many anyway, althpough that is starting to change slowly.

Most of use have computer specs in our signatures, this will give a reasonable idea what others are using. However you cant tell how old the systems are in most cases.

Just make a list of 10 or so and you should be able to narrow it down a bit.

I agree with Lew's suggestion model a house you are familar with first. I would start with a single story reasonably simple one first and then move onto multi story and split level.

As you are doing these get to know what the default settings actually do, especially as CA uses some odd nomclemature and terms.

If you are familar with other cad programmes forget how they do it and use CA how CA would like you to use it, ie don't fight the programme.

And value for money CA has to be a better option for residential Home designer builders. As far as the market goes this forum is probably 1% of the user base. I know of around 30 users and i am the only one on here.

As little as possible , since most of the libs are not a lot of use in this part of the world anyway.

What is the difference with the cameras? As you know the color changes if they are open.

I find that odd changes don't seem to stick, but I just put it down to maybe not saving or something. So I just go do it all over.

I am thinking that i might just start my next job in X6 as I dont remember these things happening in X6, at least I would then know.

Roof heights are fairly simple once you bealize what the baseline height actually is

You have overlapping height controls, cant have 2 heigths at the sane spot. I just moved the terrain lie away from the 45 deg pad area

Mark  set your defaults for the temp dims to what you want I have mine set to 1:100

I am finding  that all progammes are slow to start, the whole computer is slow for the first 15 or so mins while the machine is searching the internet then it is no different.

I was using my laptop (which is the only 1 I have updated) the other day 50miles from an internet connection and it was good.

You do not have to have your template file in the templates folder. Just redirect CA to the location the file is stored at in the preferences DBX

We DO NOT use cm for anything. cm is a non standard ISO unit.

mm² is only used for gutter cross section area and similar that I can think of off hand

frame centres typically 600 for std single story but varies for wind zones and earthquakes and stud height to 400mm or 300mm

We used to have particle board 8 foot x 4 foot then it became 2440mm x1220mm  then we went fully metric and it was rounded to 2400x1200

That is fine for maybe tower blocks where all floor heights and structures are the same, IRL here we would typically have different ceiling heights and floor structures in the house. So then it is back to tommy's method I believe.

dont think there is a lineweight scale as in ACRAP.
