  1. The print preview looks fine, but when I print to a PDF I loose resolution in part of the layout page. Referring to the first attached image, the upper half of the print has faded lines. I have tried Adobe PDF, CuteWriter, and Nitro all of which show the same problem, and all look fine in print preview. The second image is the PDF NOT sent to Layout, just printed as a page view and this looks just like the preview image. Does anyone have an insight about what might be causing this or had a similar problem?
  2. I have an enclosed two-story interior courtyard with a gypsum ceiling, but that portion of the wallboard which is over a first level roof will not display. Is there some way to edit the ceiling directly and pull it back t the wall? Zip file attached. Team Merges ConDoc1.zip
  3. Yes, Canuck that was the key: Layer 2. Thanks.
  4. Thanks, my problem was the grayed-out value for Floor Structures Layers. The dialogue defaults to the first layer which is the plywood (which is the only option and therefore grayed out). I have previously set layer 2 to 11.25" for the 2"x12" joist, but did not see that allowed me to change the structure type as well. Thanks guys.
  5. Thanks, but I guess I'm not asking the question correctly. The framing defaults dialog under EDIT>DEFAULT SETTINGS>FRAMING>FOUNDATION does not appear to have a tab or dialogue box for the floor structure tab, it only has floor structure thickness. I want to frame with 2x12 joists, not LVL's which seem to be the default. I want to change the program to always default to dimensional lumber, not LVLs for joists.
  6. Thank you, and where is THAT tab located for default settings. I can click on every joist to change the material, but I can seem to locate the general default.
  7. Still (apparently) new to CA. My floor framing always wants to build LVLs, where can I change this to lumber as a standard default setting?
  8. Ah, but then what camera setting are you using for the elevations?
  9. Thanks Nicinus, that inconsistency was the missing tip.
  10. SoftPlan has a very nice feature that allows any dimension to be over ridden, both single dimensions and strings. What's particularly nice is that the over ridden dimension shows up as a different color, so it's very easy to go back and refine the dimensions or proof a final plan. I hope this is something Chief will consider.
  11. Team Merges Courtyard V12 stripped1.plan File attached, thanks for any assistance understanding the problem.
  12. Thank you both for the response. DJP you rock!
  13. New to CA, and love it so far. That is except for the default Chief Blueprint font as I greatly prefer Graphite Standard. I've reset my text styles in Preferences three times, but it seems that every time I start a new file it defaults back to Blueprint. What am I missing, or do I need to rename my fonts in Windows with a bit editor. Thanks.
