Tile pattern not rendering the way I want/

Let me start by saying I'm a Chief "newbie" and hope this is the right place for this question.

I'm having trouble getting the desired tile pattern to render properly.  When in vector view, the pattern is correct.  When in standard view or when rendering, the tile pattern is incorrect.

Correct Tile Pattern

Wrong Tile Pattern

The desired pattern is a 12" x 24" tile with a "running bond" or "brick" pattern.

Hopefully something simple I'm doing incorrectly, but it's driving me crazy!

Any help would be appreciated!

This type of question would normally go in the General Q & A Section but you could start by looking here : https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/5934-tile-material-changes/?hl=%2Bvector+%2Btile

If that does not do it then read this: https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/9731-altering-tile-patterns/?hl=%2Btile+%2Btexture#entry84960

Here is a CA texture tutorial : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00767/creating-a-new-material.html

You just need to learn the CA terminology and you can direct your own searches.

Thanks Chopsaw - I'll post in the Genera Q & A Section next time.

The link was helpful.  I was able to get the tile size to render properly, now just need to figure out how to get the pattern to render the right way.  It's still showing up as a straight lay pattern instead of a brick pattern.

That's because you need to assign a TEXTURE with the brick pattern.  Read up on material definitions, patterns, and textures but just very briefly...

The texture is what is used in ray traces and normal render views and is essentially just a bitmap image that is either tiled or stretched to fit.

The pattern is used in vector views, technical illustrations, and line drawings and is essentially just a line work pattern that is repeated to whatever specs you have it set to.
