Hello all and thank you in advance!!!

Could I get someone to take a look at my plan and tell me what could be causing my problem. I have a closed region (what I believe is a closed region at least) made up of splines, lines, and arcs that I can't seem to set to set as a "terrain feature" for some reason. The group of lines is essentially going to be a border all the way around the house that will contain plantings etc.

When you open the plan, the region I am talking about is 150 feet to the right of the home.

Thank you all!!-- I know this is going to be an easy fix, but I just don't know what I have done wrong/ messed up...

That is not a closed polyline.

You need to go around and join up all the separate entities into a closed polyline.

I have went around to ensure endpoint is to endpoint. No connection between an arc and spline is acting appropriately. What am I doing wrong?- This seems like it should be an easy process that has turned into a nightmare. Is my border too complex? (Sorry for my questioning but I am at a loss for what is going on)

Thank you for your help.

Tthe problem is that you are trying to make a poyline out of splines and other entity types.

You can't include a spline in a polyline - you need to convert it to a polyline first.

Go around and select your splines and convert them to polylines with the Convert Spline to Polyline on the Edit menu.

You can then go around and join all the line entities to form a polyline.

You can do that by selecting a polyline, arc. line, etc and then clicking on it end or start handle.

Thank you so much GlennW for the detailed answer. All is resolved with the model we were speaking about. Thank you so much!!

I have been trying to place a rectangular polyline onto a Layout file that has a solid grey fill.  All the fill settings are set to grey as well as the default CAD layer color.  Despite this when I exit from the polyline specification box the rectangle will still only show as a solid black.  Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this and make the polyline boxes be filled with a solid grey?

Looking to see if anyone can give me some insight into the setting in the terrain that will help me remove these white areas.  Can't seem to find it.

I'm still fairly new to Chief and have mostly learned from just playing around with things. Is there a way to create a custom-shaped section for a different material? For example, I am trying to make a curved pathway of wood, while the surrounding material is carpet.

I was able to create the pathway using polylines, and then changed the fill to a wood-plank pattern on the plan view. But I am trying to see the differentiated pathway in the rendered perspective view.
Should I be using the polyline tools to do this or is there a better way?

I've drawn the floorplan for the 7700 SF clubhouse of a development we are building. I need someone to actually do the finishes for the 3D and renderings.  I also need someone to finish the terrain work and exterior areas including portico with circular driveway and parking areas, pickleball courts, pool, outdoor seating and firepits.  Thank you! Please let me know if you are interested in taking this project and need price for your work.

I have a pair of questions related to moldings and lights in version X14 of Chief Architect.
I have a basic knowledge about moldings and I don’t know how to build a “molding inside a molding” (pictures attached)? I just created a symbol but it doesn’t look so realistic.
I though about a solid polyline but it doesn’t allow moldings. If I make a molding polyline I can’t rotate it properly.
Another doubt is when I worked with version X12 all lamps in general gave light enough. In version X14 everything looks almost in half-light. I tried to manipulate the data light of lamps getting no results.
Whatever idea will be welcome. Many thanks!
