HarpGuy
Can you tell me if a file done in Chief Architect Premier could be opened and worked on in Home Designer Pro, or are there compatibility issues in trying to do so? This is assuming that both versions are current. Dave
jbaehmer
You can use Premier files in Home Designer Pro. The CA file needs to have the settings marked to allow that to happen. However, you are limited to the features and abilities in Home Designer Pro. Such as layer sets. I believe HDP does not have layer sets, so the layer set that the CA file is saved in is the layer set that will appear in HDP and you will not be able to switch layer sets. Kbird1
Yes as Jared said, as long as both are the same version (X7-Pro 2016) and the Chief file is saved with the Defaults>Plan> Allow Editing in Home Designer Products checkbox marked.
HarpGuy
That's excellent news! Thanks very much, guys! Now all I have to do is get the file from my draftsman, and learn HDP!
