SpaceMouse Pro Wireless and Radial Menus on a Mac - How to get it to work?!

I bought a SpaceMouse Pro Wireless thinking it would speed up my production, but I have yet to get it to work on my Mac. It will work for a short period of time then ghost out. Installing the software disables the trackpad on my Macbook Pro regardless of it being turned on or plugged in. So I have to uninstall the software to use my trackpad. Not only that, but the radial menu set ups are no where near as extensive as a PC. This has been so frustrating since I bought it.

3dConnexion driver registers as a HID device with MacOS so the setting "ignore built-in trackpad when mouse or wireless trackpad is present" toggled off for the trackpad is your first option.
Regarding the device falling asleep, when the 3dmouse goes idle, an event timer through MacOS likely puts the device to sleep through power management. You might be able to force a wake state
hit command+spacebar and type Terminal then press your return key and type in caffeinate -iu -t 28800
this will tell the OS not to timeout for 8 hours
If you want to cancel this go to that terminal window and press ctrl+c

Dont close the terminal window, leave it open, then test your 3dmouse
regarding mac options, youre limited to 4 radial menus, no workaround for that

It stays connected now, but there is no Spin, tilt, or roll feedback. Someone said that the roll function is not available on Chief regardless of OS.

screenshot your 3d connexion settings with chief as your active window, is spin and tilt toggled on?
Also is Chief being seen as the program in focus?

I don't have a laptop so hopefully Rene can help you get going on that end.

As far as not be as robust, it is correct about Mac only getting 4 radial dial options per button, but it is still pretty efficient. I have played around with different techniques and am currently using the two click approach, and it seems to be working very well once I got into the mind set and rhythm.

The first button push brings up only four options on a radial dial, each one of these will bring up an additional four items on the next radial dial. Which means that with two clicks there are 16 items per button. I have the Enterprise model and use 31 buttons for radial menus, so that is about 496 tools and library items all within 2 clicks. I find that having the first layer working as a direction path to the group of 16 helps keep similar things grouped together nicely.  Example: I have exterior walls for 1st, 2nd, 3rd floors, and the attic. Each of these have a regular default new wall, existing wall, reno wall, and a demo wall.

Everyone will find what works best for them, this may just give one more option to look at. I hope that you get things figured out before you lose patience. I almost was at the point to 'Hit Any Key' ... really, really hard.... with a hammer when I first bought mine too.
