Seeking Chief Architect Drafter / Residential Designer for Addition Project

I own a kitchen and bath studio in Portland, Maine, and I’m looking for someone experienced in Chief Architect to help with a personal residential project. (I specialize in interiors and this is a whole different ball game. :)

The main need is for a complete set of construction/building plans for a two-story garage addition with a two-bedroom apartment above, along with a rooftop deck/balcony connector that ties the addition back to the main house.

I have been working through the design in Chief Architect and have a clear overall direction, but I could also use a second set of experienced eyes on the scale, proportions, rooflines, and how the addition relates to the existing house. I’m looking for someone who can help refine the design as needed and then produce the plan set. I have added a rendering of the exterior below.

I have the original house plans, measurements, concept images, and a Chief Architect model that can be used as a starting point or reference.

Experience with New England homes, traditional architecture, or carriage-house style additions would be a plus.

Please reach out if this is the type of project you’d be interested in discussing.

Thnanks!

Hi,

I’d be interested in helping with this project. I have experience using Chief Architect for residential design and construction drawings and would be happy to review your existing model and assist with design refinement and plan production.

Please let me know if you’d like to discuss the scope and next steps.

Best regards,

Gichuki

People-Friendly Plans. Builder-Ready Details.

Most plans are either easy for homeowners to understand or detailed enough for builders to price. The best plan sets do both.

With 3D views, homeowners can clearly see the finished design before construction starts. With accurate, detailed quantity takeoffs, builders and suppliers can price the project faster and with more confidence.

The result is a better design process, cleaner bids, fewer surprises, and a project that starts with everyone on the same page.
