Stair railing walls

Is there any way to have the bottom of a railing wall follow the bottom of the stair?

I have a builder that frequently designs closed stringer stairs that are fully self supporting.  The railing is built on top of a beam that sits next to the end stringer of the stair.

I'm sorry, I probably wasn't very clear on the initial post.  The stair is already set up the way.  The problem is that the railing is outboard of that stringer.  When I offset the railing, it just floats with nothing below it.  Here's an example of an old project where this was done in different software.  Closed stringer stair with railing built outboard.

An here is an example of another project completed.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean.  But if you are just widening the outside stringers, I tried that, and I found that it looks weird in plan view (CA doesn't show the stringer).

I have all my stringers and newels, etc.. turned off in plan view...so I didn't notice.

Here's a snip on what they look like turned on.  I guess I don't know what look you're going for, but looks ok to me.

There is a layer called "Stairs & Ramps, Stringers".  Make sure that's turned on.

Then turn on "Draw Newels" and "Draw Rails" in your stair specifications DBX.  It's under the "Newels/Balusters" section.
