Change Multiple Light Fixtures to Different Light Fixture

Is there a quick way to change multiple light fixtures to a different light fixture?

 

I have tried using the object eyedropper to change several bare bulb fixtures to recessed, but the symbols do not match the object I am sampling.

Have you tried using the "replace from library" tool?  Just select one of the lights and then click on the tool.  You can then pick the light you want to replace it with and if you then chose "replace identical objects on floor" it should replace all of them at once.
