Litsinger
First time visitor to the forum. Novice user of Chief Architect, but have had a bit of experience in working with other 3D modeling software. Hopeful someone can give me some pointers concerning best practice for trimming out overbuild when joining two roof sections together that are running perpendicular to one another. Trying to create a bonus area in the rafter space above a ceiling and haven't managed to figure out how to remove the extraneous roof where the North - South section intersects with the East-West section. Thank you for help and feedback. I appreciate it! Russ p.s. I attempted to search this question up in the forum but could not find where it had previously been addressed - if it has and I missed it, my apologies for the duplicate thread. Litsinger
Mark: Thank you kindly for your very helpful reply. I sincerely appreciate it. When using the 'Auto Roof' function, is there an easy way to pre-define the gable orientations? When I auto create a roof for the section in question., I get the following result - and while I can relatively easily address the North-South gable configuration, the East-West configuration proves a challenge because the valley is pre-cut and I cannot 'square-up' the portion automatically cut to align with the North-facing gable. For reference, South in this model is the long end facing the two story portion. I've tried removing the section, spinning it 180 degrees and re-attaching, but this creates more problems than it solves. Thanks again for your feedback.
