mealexmail
Hi guys! Does anybody know what about cyrillic fonts support in labels, rich text, markers etc.? Is it a bug or I am wrong somehow? Alex
Solution Doug_Park Posted April 22, 2015 Solution Share Posted April 22, 2015 Chief does not yet uniformly support Unicode, which is what we would need to support the many different scripts in use worldwide. Currently you should be able to use Cyrillic scripts in Rich Text. But the rest of the application is limited to the Windows 1252 character set which doesn't support Cyrillic or any other scripts. Unicode support is something that is of growing importance as our customer base is spreading worldwide. Internally several things have been done in the code to work toward this support. Unfortunately, not all of the work has been completed.
GerryT
....... Internally several things have been done in the code to work toward this support. ......... Hopefully that includes Ruby macros Currently only the ASCII set is allowed or passed through in macros. Although Ruby has always had Unicode support. This would be a huge advantage in allowing custom built spreadsheets.
Doug_Park
The goal is to make Unicode support as complete as possible. That would include Ruby.
mealexmail
Yes, Rich text goes ok with Cyrillic but all other elements don't. Hope for further update 'cause it can not be commercially used without cyr fonts Thank you, Doug.
