PLANSAHEAD
I find it unusual with all of the stock patterns and wall hatchings that there is not one of the universal symbol for insulation, the one that consists of a series of curves and 1/2 circles, one that can be automatic in both plan view and section views. I am well aware of the insulation cad 'box', but it does not lend itself to a hatching that can be put in the wall layer as a wall hatch in the wall DBX. While I am a long time user, it just seems pretty conspicuous that that is not an option for standard wall hatchings. If someone could post one, it would be appreciated. TIA. glennw
The reason you can't find an insulation fill is that it doesn't comply with a hatch patterns definition. A normal hatch (fill) pattern definition repeats in both x and y directions, whereas the insulation hatch only repeats in one direction (along it's length). This is a stretched Cad Block to illustrate, not a hatch pattern: It could be used in simple cases where you need a rectangular fill, but can't be used in cases like a fill pattern for a wall layer, or to fill odd shapes, etc. Edited Friday at 11:32 PM by glennw
