Steve-C
Has anyone figured this out yet? I get super crisp images and shadows on both of my PC rigs but on my Mac laptop I get this garbage. Normally I wouldn't care but I'm going to be out of town quite a bit over the next few months and I would really like to get this figured out. My current Mac is a 15" Macbook Air but I got the same results when I had a Mac Studio with an M3 Ultra.
Steve-C
To compare here is the same image from Windows Mac used to have a "sharpen image" option a few years ago but they got rid of it. I have messaged tech support about this a couple of times but they gave me some BS about having to create a new template every so often when using a Mac. I tried that and still had the same results. glennw
My first guess is to toggle on Ray Casted Sun Shadows.
Steve-C
Tried that. Also turned bloom on and off, adjusted ambient occlusion, adjusted sharpening and super resolution, none of which made any difference. I should mention that this has been the result on multiple Mac devices and is why I use Windows machines at my home office and work office. I only use Mac for site measures. Solution Brad_M Posted 7 hours ago Solution Share Posted 7 hours ago There is a bug on the Mac that is preventing Ray Casted Sun Shadows from working properly in Standard views. I think the only workaround is disabling GPU Ray Tracing in Render Preferences (which will prevent PBR and Clay from working until the preference is re-enabled).
Steve-C
That did it. Disable GPU ray tracing in prefernces, then enable Ray Casted Sun Shadow in your active view. Thanks a million Brad!
