PJS-59
I would like to have the "Over-the-Door Hook" item from "Home Essential No. 2 Cleaning and Air" from the Bonus Catalog be actually attached to a standard door, so it can be displayed on either a closed or an open door. Can any one point me to a method to "attach" this item to and standard hinged door? Thanks Patrick Shoaf pshoaf@midmon.net
JKEdmo
My approach - I took a door object and converted it to a millwork symbol. I placed the door hooks correctly onto this symbol. I then selected both items and then converted them to a new library door symbol. This new symbol can be used for a door panel. See attached. What I could not figure out is how to display the hooks in plan. Not sure if this is possible given door display options. glennw
You could try and attach it to the door as Hardware like a Handle or a Lock.
PJS-59
glenw, Neither works correctly. Door locks only allow height of object, you can not move in from edge, nor can you move hooks closer to door, as the object shows the over door portion. PJS-59
Jim, your option will work for me, but I will need to create a new door symbol as your door is different from mine. This will work for not, but it would be nice to see the hooks in the plan view and 3D view. Maybe this should be a new "Feature" to be added into the program. I'm not sure what controls the display for this -- if at all. I noticed there is not a way to display door hardware in plan unless I am missing something. Maybe the long time Chief pros can chime in on this.
