TimAtSuiteAdd
I recently had a realty appraisal / measurement company measure a house for me, to get AsBuilts put together more quickly. I think these drawings give me most everything I need, but I can't figure out how best to import them, so that I don't have to redraw everything. There are a ton of options in the importing system that I don't yet understand. Any input is appreciated! SHCanada2
i usually draw over, especially for something as simple as these. But you could try the CA CAD to walls function. It is detailed in help
Ed_Orum
I import .dwg a lot for my work, mostly from surveyors, sometimes from engineers, lots of times for both. I always map to a single Chief layer so when I look at it I see everything; angle, distance, buildings, septics, street lines etc. Then I go through and highlight things I dont need and put them on a "garbage" layer. Now I am left with a clean drawing that I can modify as needed. The problem is that almost always if it is a house drawing, everything needs to be redrawn or drawn over. Engineering and surveys are easy, house plans seem to be the most time consuming. I have never tried the CAD to Walls tool, so I can't comment on that.
