Samia2024
All the rooms in the existing house are in the first floor. there is a Bonus room above the garage. i will have to add a floor above the existing bedrooms to add the new master suite. The Problem I am facing: When I click in the bonus room it is responsive and I can open the Room Specification box. But when i clink in other room/spaces in the 2nd floor, the rooms/spaces are unresponsive and Room Specification box doesn't open. The garage underneath Room Specification box and the 'Floor Above' is active in the box.(attached) But in other areas/rooms in the same floor(for example: Existing bedrooms in the first floor), if I open the Room Specification box, The 'Floor Above' part is unresponsive. Why? is this why my upper floor above these rooms are unresponsive? How do i fix this issue? Also i am trying to add a stair. I tried to connect it with the second floor with Auto Stairwell. but it is not working ....because the system is not acknowledging that there is a floor above these rooms. ChiefTylerL
Hello @Samia2024, This behavior is typically caused by an automatically generated attic wall on your 2nd floor, because these walls come with the No Room Definition setting checked. No Room Definition means that the wall will not enclose a room, so a room cannot be selected. I would go wall by wall in these areas, open the Wall Specification, and on the General panel ensure that No Room Definition is unchecked. More information can be found in this Knowledge Base article: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02970/troubleshooting-room-selection-issues.html For further assistance please feel free to start a Technical Support Ticket with a copy of your plan and we can help get this resolved. Using the Technical Support Center: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00717/using-the-technical-support-center.html I hope this helps!
SHCanada2
the other way to narrow down the offending wall is to just draw a new wall bisecting the room, and then click on either side to see if you can select a room. rinse, repeat.
