Zarraya Posted Sunday at 02:57 PM Share Posted Sunday at 02:57 PM Hello everyone, I am really new to Chief Architect and am attempting to design a house with a large single slope roof (a shed roof). I am trying to get the program to spit the rafters on bearing elements, such as walls and beams. No matter what I try I can not get it to work. I have verified this issue in a minimal example. I have 4 walls. The sides are full gable, the back is a high shed. The wall are also set to balloon through ceiling above with flat ceiling unchecked to open the space all the way to the top. I have attempted to put a bearing beam, bearing wall and bearing line in the attic level to no result. Any idea on what the issue is? Is this an unsupported scenario? Thank you for any help! jorgearaya Posted yesterday at 05:39 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:39 PM Use two roof planes, overlap them as needed over your support, same spacing but, use a framing reference and place it so that it overlaps the framing as needed right to left, you may need to play with it a bit. You will also need to play with the fascia buttons as to build or not or a combination thereof.
