Backsplash with Molding Profiles and General Moldings

Hi, maybe this has a simple answer but I can't figure out how to put a molding profile onto a backsplash that is sloped toward the countertop.  Can anyone help me out with this? Also I am having a problem with moldings in general.  I watched the chief video on moldings from a polyline and every time I try converting my line to a molding it completely disappears.  I looked under moldings in rooms and its gone.  I checked my layer display and it shows moldings checked.  So I am really confused.  Thanks, Mindy

I am trying to create a backsplash similar to this with a molding profile.  I can only create a standard backsplash with no profile on it.  My main problem might be with molded polylines in general.  I watched the chief video on creating moldings from a polyline but every time I try to replicate any of that my polylines just completely disappear.  I hope I am making myself clear, but I draw a custom backsplash but it doesn't have an option to add moldings.  So I have been trying to create a molded polyline, but each time I try to convert it to molded polyline it disappears all together.  I don't know what I am doing wrong.

Try this:

1. Create the custom backsplash on the wall the shape you want but make sure to make it smaller by the molding size.

2. Copy and paste in place.

3. Convert the copy into a molding polyline.  In my case, my molding polyline jumped so that it was no longer in the same place as the backsplash but it was still in the same plane as the wall.  I was able to find it and move it back on top of the backsplash.  I think this is a bug because I don't think it should have moved and this might be what is happening to you.

4.  Choose the molding profile you want and remove it from any edges you don't want it on.  You will probably want to change the material and make sure to turn off "extrude inside polyline" so it goes around the backsplash.
