LevisL
I'm working on a plan where we are adding a monolithic slab to the side of an existing slab. Whenever I do addition/reno plans, I show the existing portion in black and the additions in blue. I'm trying to do that for this slab, and I can't figure out how to change the edge of the slab to blue for the addition portions! I've created a second foundation wall layer (Walls, Foundation, New), which I've set to blue in the layer set. I also created a second footing layer (Footings, New), which is also blue. The footing layer displays properly, but I can't get the slab edge to show in blue. I also checked my wall settings and made sure the color of the wall layer lines are set to 'By Layer'. I'm stumped! What controls the color of the slab edge?!
Solution tundra_dweller Posted Wednesday at 11:33 PM Solution Share Posted Wednesday at 11:33 PM Select your slab edge and take a look at the "Slabs" layer color.
tundra_dweller
And I'm not sure how well it would work to create a copy of that layer for your new slab areas, it's a system layer and I'm not sure how the software would handle it, I'm guessing not very well. Maybe the slab pour number would have some effect on how it works too. I'm curious to see how it works for you.

That's exactly the layer that controls the edge. In my case, it worked fine changing the layer to blue for the entire slab. I already had a cad polyline to show the grey fill for the existing area, so I just had to make sure it displayed above the blue line to mask it.
