Hi All,

I am trying to build a dormer roof for looks, curb appeal, but need it to extend past the edge of the main roof. I would also like to add the facade roofline as in the picture of the home. I have not had any luck with tutorials or information searches, I may not be using correct terms in my search. I purchased pro but am simply using it for myself for an addition and such. I am not well versed in these types of programs so, if someone could take time to dumb it down for me, I would appreciate it greatly!

Thank You

Steve

Think of the barn board facade as a turned gable (not a dormer) and set the front wall as a gable.  You can build build most of it automatically but you will have to pull the left eave of your turned gable down over the door.

The way that I would do it is draw a fake room further forward on your house the draw the roof plane and connect them to your main roof then remove the fake walls and pull the roof planes in to where you want them.
