Schedule row size with symbols

Wondering if I am missing something so thought I would ask here. When I make a schedule and include a symbol in it for my electrical, the row size increases larger than necessary. It only happens if the actual object is a large one. If I delete that object, the schedule shrinks back down. It seems to take its measurement for the row height from the object, not the symbol that is representing it. Images of a sample schedule attached.

Any way to work around this or get it to display properly? Sure makes my schedule look bloated. Wish I could define row heights...

Thanks.

Did you make that "warehouse" light yourself or get it from the library?  I couldn't find it in my library so I am guessing you either made it or renamed a library one.  In either case, I am guessing that it is related to the size of the cad block it is using.  The size of the cad block can change the schedule row size.

In either case, you might be able to work around this problem by playing around with the preview options in the schedule dialog.  Checking or unchecking the "use plan view scale" or "scale images" might give you the results you want.

If that doesn't help, then you might want to post your plan.

No, it is in the bonus library...

Chief Architect Bonus Catalogs>Country Chic No.04>Lighting>Warehouse Lighting> Wall Mounted Warehouse Light with Guard

The CAD Block is just the typical wall sconce/light and seems to be of normal size. If I change the object size in the plan, the schedule gets bigger or smaller accordingly with the symbol staying the same size. I have even tried creating a new CAD Block or using one that is already known to be the correct size in the schedule.

I have it set to "use plan view scale" as I wanted the symbol to be the same size as in the plan. The other settings give odd results.

I have attached a small sample plan. If you delete the exterior light, or change its size, it changes the schedule.

Thanks.

So the cad block for that light looks fine and I think the problem is that the schedule is using the "bounding box" size instead of the cad block size.  The bounding box is being set by how big the light is in a camera view.

You *might* be able to work around this by creating a copy of the symbol and making the bounding box smaller so that it matches the 2D size.  I didn't play with this very long but found that I could get the row size smaller by using a negative bounding box spacing (see picture below).  Unfortunately, this had the side effect of messing up the preview position in the schedule but there might be a way to modify these settings to get what you need.

The bottom line is that I think this might be a bug so you might want to report it.
