ChiefChrissy
I am having trouble importing cad files (.dwg). I go through the import drawing assistant which seems straight forward and has not given me a problem in the past but for some reason when I do it with this latest project, nothing shows up after the import is complete. what am I missing? I uploaded the chief file and the cad file. 418 15th street.plan A5 1ST _ 2ND FLOOR PLANS_1FIRST FLOOR PLAN.dwg

ChiefChrissy
Interesting. Looks like you got the first floor to import but that file had both first and second floor in it. Can you share what you did? I have 6 more of these.
BenPalmer
Regarding multiple floors...I simply imported the file you attached. If they are all in the same file, then it would be controlled via layers (I haven't looked into your file further). The best way to handle multiple floors is put them into separate cad files so you can import them into the different floors...but it can be done as one file, controlled via layers, but more work involved. As far as how I did it, I just followed the import wizard...doing a quick search, here are some help articles and vids (they reference site files, but essentially the same process): https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00719/importing-terrain-elevation-data-from-a-dwg-or-dxf-file.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/1056/import-a-surveyor-dwg-file-for-a-site-plan-or-terrain-perimeter.html https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00283/troubleshooting-dwg-dxf-file-import-issues.html A good source is also found within the software's help: press F1 then search something like: Import DWG. Hope that helps.
