I need an architect/designer to design it and take it to completion (permits, and support builder). I much prefer someone local, in the LA area. I'm an amateur at Chief, but I've been able to get at least a reasonable layout of what we want, as a starting point. I've talked to several architects, but they seem to be in the last century in terms of tech, and I feel like I could make progress faster with someone using Chief. I don't have a clear idea on style yet, but it will be some transitional/contemporary, not too modern on the facade, pretty modern on the interior and backyard. Size will be around 4500sqft. Emilios8 Posted June 11, 2022 Share Posted June 11, 2022 It sounds like what you need is a draftsperson since you already have designed and worked out what you want, I don't think you would benefit much from an architect, besides, it's going to be very difficult, but not impossible, to find some one that knows Chief Architect, since most architect and draftspeople tend to use either Autocad, Revit, or other more popular software. Perhaps someone can transfer the drawings to their software and work with you. I agree with you, I find Chief one of the best yet undiscovered software's out there. and I have tried and used all of them, including ArchiCad. I now use Chief exclusively for design and working drawings, very intuitive and great with finishes. Good Luck, Emilio p.s I am from your area, Woodland Hills.
