Problem with step down showers on second floor

I'm working on a house in South Florida (as the interior designer) and we're doing concrete slab for the second floor. I want all the showers on the second floor to be step-down showers. I know how to change the floor height to do this correctly for my elevation drawings. But, when I look at the first floor, the ceiling where the showers are located drop down. I.e. when I change the floor on the second floor it changes the ceiling on the first floor.

Is there a way to override this?

If I change the floor height on the second floor (to represent the step down shower), it automatically changes the ceiling plane on the first floor. The step down showers "poke" through the ceiling.

Is there a way to have CA ignore framing or adjust the framing based on floor heights?
