henrysonsona Posted October 6, 2020 Share Posted October 6, 2020 my computer recently got hacked and my computer fix-it guy was able to recover most but the layout files have the following error message: C:\p4sync\dev\Releases\22\chief\source\DocumentFactory.cpp(457): Warning #272015538 "Unable to read the file "C:/Users/Henry Sonsona/OneDrive/Desktop/Line Construction/a Line Construction of Hawaii/Line Construction/a Line Construction Job Files/Residential/nee 052820.layout". This file does not have a valid header record." Any suggestions on how to recover layout files. Looks like all layout files are doing this. jmsisco Posted October 6, 2020 Share Posted October 6, 2020 If you are on a win 10 PC Look in your Documents folder for Chief x 12 Archives for a file named with this extension _auto_save_bak.layout or .layout C:\Users\ XXXXX\Documents\Chief Architect Premier X12 Data\Archives\your specific layout name\ you layout file name XXXX is your user name specific to your computer Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BrownTiger Posted October 6, 2020 Share Posted October 6, 2020 I suspect it is corrupted and also suggest taking a copy from the archive folder Go to Edit>Preferences>Folders> My Folder Data Lookup archive see if there is a copy In general every layout/plan has a header: 01 ca b2 0b 00 00 If it is corrupt CA will not open Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
