kaitikilpatrick
Does Chief run on Chrome OS?
Dermot
No. Our Chief Architect and Home Designer desktop applications will currently run on Windows 7/8/10 and Mac High Sierra/Mohave. More information about system requirements can be found here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/sysreq.html We do have some mobile apps that will run on Android and IOS. They are far less capable than any of our desktop applications though. More info about our Room Planner mobile app can be found here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/room-planner/
BrownTiger
Not 100% correct, or even 90%. Chromebooks are running Chrome OS. Few year back the feature was added to allow chrome books to execute almost all android apps. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrome_OS Chrome 69 has a capability to run desktop apps, but also released, still considered in beta. Obvious answer to your question is NO. Chief DOES NOT run on Chrome OS
Brameda
I have a Chromebook, which I fully undersatnd cannot run the home design programme as it is windows based. However, I have retained a windows (10) PC and have two programmes (inluding the home design programme) that cannot run through the Chromebook. I understand that there are workarounds but don't want to use these at the moment. I will not maintain an internet connection with the windows PC (for one reason, my previous experience of a couple of security issues with windows has made me avoid this OS). I can run the other programme on a standalone basis with no problem, but the Chief Architect programme is now asking for the key before it will let me proceed - I have the key but clearly can't connect via this PC to confirm without the internet. Is there a workaround on this please - I only need to run the programme on a standalone basis at present Thanks
