Stevenb
Hello I have a square floor plan and trying to get a ridge vent area rather than a point at the top. It is out of my wheel house. Plus other issues/adjustment to the roof so I can get a take off Thanks Steven Home Designer Pro 2019 version

Stevenb
Thanks It is not so much about the ridge vent itself. It is re-pitching the roof planes to be able to put one on. I can't figure out how to get it done Steven Roof Plane.pdf
ACADuser
That's odd, the OP said a SQUARE plan. There are no ridges in a square plan unless two opposite side has a different roof pitch. So are you trying to put a ridge vent on a Hip Ridge?
Stevenb
You are correct. I want to have a flat ridge on this house. That was my assumption that 2 pitches would be needed. 6/12 and a 5/12 would hopefully get me a 6' ish horizontal ridge I don't know how to make that happen.
