reflecting issue in PBR

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have an issue with PBR camera view. As you can see on the attached pic the reflection of the textures are missing in PBR. I know I do something wrong just can not figure out what is that.

My second issue when I rendering this plan with this settings the result is dark and shady (untitled 5 renderelt 02.jpg)

Thank you!

Any advice are welcome!

Prorefinish: are you wanting more reflectivity or less? You are right, it's the settings and an easy fix once we give you the secret handshake.

At least some. in the setting the reflection on 100% so I would except some. But as you can see (or not because not showing) nothing showing.

Profinish, do you want a reflection? If so, do you want it to be like a mirror, a polished surface, just reflect light but not an image?

As I said I want at least some because now it is nothing as you can see on the pictures. If I setting 100% up should be like mirror or close I think. But NO REFLECTION at all.

Do you have Reflections turned on?

In the last picture it looks like the lights are off, also where are the sun & windows?

I made myself a tiny PBR toor bar like this one so that I can get to the appropriate settings quickly. HTH

OK there is the TIP for this Thread  since it should really be over in the Q&A Forum :)

It is always best to post the Plan file in cases like this , there are just too many varibles , which leads to too much guessing as to the cause...

Also ...No Signature = No secret Handshake for you  :):):)  (J.J.)

It's good to have your Forum Signature filled in, especially with the Software Version, and of course a real Name is nice too :) ..............
See mine below in Blue for how to do that.

If you don't see my Signature then you have them turned off for the Forum so you need to Toggle it on by going to the Upper RH Corner of this Forum Window and Clicking on your Username and making sure Signature are enabled (green) and then Add your Own Sig. too :

If there are no Windows and Doors to allow Light in you may need to add some raking light by adding a 3D light down near the Floor ?....

No Sunlight = no reflections or subdued Reflections in PBR

Okay found Graham's post from last week , try these Settings perhaps....

Lots of good info in the Lets PBR Thread too.... but this is my post in it with the basic setup , have 100 automatic lights is important

Good morning,

thank you all your help and tips. Finally I figured out I think. I played with sun lm and angle and materials. What I think some materials can not reflect as I except so I changed some of those. (but maybe I am wrong)

So for this attached plan: Light settings max 20, spot light with 85Lm, sun int: 1200, tilt angle: -32.3, direction angle: 80.4, and PBR.

Attached picture, not plan?

This doesn't appear to be the kitchen you posted above yesterday......  the Windows should help greatly in PBR with the lighting.....

This is just a test kitchen. Finally I could figured out and made this pic. I am happy with this quality. But I am not a professional CA user. (yet) :)

Showcasing a space can sometimes best be accomplished by showcasing the entire area within an integrated 360 Tour.  Video is great for clips, generating interest, investment, and capital campaigns but it drives a user on a set path on a set time frame.  Try a 360 Tour!  Your users can take all the time they need and really get a feel of a space.  Please see one posted at the link below:

      360 Tour

Tours can be generated easily and quickly.  All we need from you is the 2D or 3D floor plan(s) you wish to use, and the spherical images you wish to upload.  A company logo, text, and even video can be set into the tour as well.  Tours run off our own server and will be active for 18 months upon payment.  Very competitive pricing and updates are fast and easy providing the images are resent using the same file names.

Instead of spending hours searching, I prefer to do this. My apologizes.

I've designed homes in previous versions of CA. All the way back to 4. Well, computer HD crashed a while back and nearly lost everything. After new HD, installation of CA 12 w/bonus materials, its back to normal. However...

When I render anything in any of the 6 houses in version 12 I get this alert window (see pic) telling me it can't find the files on the list. Instead of spending hours replacing each one, I would like to know if there is way to simple delete or restore them back to their default material setting, delete them altogether, anything! I can't seem to do them (delete is dimmed) either for some reason. Thanks in advance.

Using CA 12 with all bonus materials.

A bit late in the day to be starting an old topic. What the heck is the deal with random wall lighting issues in PBR? I've tried every toggle and adjustment I can find but I can't get a couple of walls to display properly. It's clearly not a specific lighting issue because the problem is with a few walls. I recorded the PBR adjusting itself and somewhere along the way it gets it just right...but then just keeps on going. All I'd need is a slider tool so I could manually reverse / forward that process and then stop it where I'd like it.

And while I was working on this I had an epiphany! I added a wallcovering to my offending walls, using the same material, and BOOM! They all play along now! This could possibly go in the 'tip and tricks' section.
